Definitions of that word may differ but clearly the tax code is currently and inherently unfair. hell trump gave me a decent chunk in tax breaks and I still hate his guts. maybe even more than before I got extra cash. The government takes in trillions of dollars each year and yet has managed to outspend that income every year regardless of which party is in control. They're comfortable with authoritarian rule as long as they "feel" good about it. They think debate and disagreement is equivalent to terrorism. Their social justice agenda is a frivolity enabled by good times led by people with no real problems of their own and hands in somebody else's pocket picking up the tab. That's not to excuse the "Right" either. They also talk a good game but when it comes to the moment of truth, they fail to deliver time and again. Let's just say my expectations for the "new" House are pretty low. Most likely they'll deliver nothing. And when it comes to war spending there's no line or division between these left and right segments. They're all in on it. My problem is the government is simply sucking the life out of the country. It's too big and intrusive. And what have they done lately? Say, 30 years ago a couple could raise a family on an average salary with one person needing to work. Today, both have to work just to break even. Along with the Fed they've systematically destroyed the value of the dollar. Our money is trending toward worthless. That's progress? You could go to college or send your kids without having to mortgage your home or commit your retirement funds or take out huge loans that burden borrowers for years. We've got all kinds of technology and science but now a trip to the hospital can be followed by a trip to bankruptcy. Taxes are way too high sucking 40, maybe 60 percent of some people's earnings. Huge government spending has sucked the life out of the American middle and working classes. All this is what, progress? But hey, on your way to the poorhouse and living in the streets you can rest at ease that you'll be addressed with your preferred pronouns. I have paid plenty of tax and maxed out social security eligible benefits years ago. So what? Not sure what u don't understand about WW2. Taxes were higher than ever due to the cost of the war. And people sacrificed both blood and treasure mostly without complaint. it actually would have been much less costly if we engaged there nazi's immediately. kinda like we're doing with the Russians in Ukraine now.
