Is it time to activate Hodgins?

Is anyone confused why Hodgins, who had a great Spring and preseason, is not activated to the 53 roster with obvious injuries (and alarming lack of production) from Davis and minimal output from Crowder? There may not be an open spot but is Kumerow even available?

His special teams play is not on par with the other guys he competed with for those final two spots, he might come up now but Austin is the more obvious choice since he can return punts if it is only one guy.

Always trying to come up with reasons not to play Hodgins play him

Reason #1: Bills staff don't think he's worth activating

Reason #2: there is no reason #2

Exactly, being that Gabe “the chronic foot” Davis in need of down time…, that’s exactly why Hodgins is here, that and Crowder has been a bit disappointing as well as recently injured…,  Shakir and Hodgins are in position to show their worth,

Go Bills!!!

Gabe has taken 98% of snaps this season.  He's fine.   Throw him more balls.

There's always one receiver that everyone sees as the next Hall-of-Famer-if-only-he-got-off-the-Practice-Squad.

Although not on the PS, That’s is a “similar” talking point folk took on Gabe Davis not that long ago, saying he hadn’t shown himself to be a real #2 wr, and wasn’t ready to take snaps from Sanders, and ya know, they were wrong.

Confused, no.  Is it time?  probably if Crowder is out for a while which seems likely.

The Bills have thrown for more yards than all but one team, they are doing fine....3rd in yards, 5th in points total offense.   Lets not panic.  There is no emergency.  Kumerow is out with a high ankle.

no one is confused. crowder has a broken ankle. if we need to bring him down so be it. next man up

Gabe’s ankle is poop right now, bring up a guy to spell Gabe while he heals his chronic ankle problem. We’re not talking permanently replacing Gabe, it’s temporary, Is this so hard to grasp?

Please don't grasp Gabe's ankle, it might become poopier.

Look, the reason for Hodgins not making it is pretty simple: he doesn't have the track record and pedigree compared to the people who got onto a roster spot ahead of him. It's the same reason why 31 other teams didn't leap to grab him.

That said, if Crowder is out indefinitely, and the other injuries to the position, I am not at all shocked if he gets the call up. He knows the system, we know what he can do and it fits the next man up mentality. But let's not be shocked if it takes a few games. I remember Shakir getting a call a few weeks back and whiffing bad on a block, but in week 4 we are oohing and ahhing over his play.

Other than being fast, has he shown much as a receiver?

Not really, but the Bills seem to love him as a returner(I am not sure why) and he brings a missing aspect of deep threat to the offense.  He brings an added dimension that Hodgins doesn't.
