That WR was WIDE OPEN on that 4th down ply and Lamar missed him. There was no pressure on him, he just flat out missed the wide open guy. Josh wouldn’t have missed that guy being that open. That’s a huge difference between the 2

Because it was a straight drop back. Lamar is a gimmick player, he only does well on play action and roll outs. Same with Tua. Those are the same types of plays they run in high school. Good for them when they work and they can get the LB to bite on the play action and then hit the TE. Bad when everyone knows you aren't running it so doesn't work out so well for him at the end of games

Are you talking about the Poyer pick? I mean the pass was on mark just late and Poyer made a great play.. And remember Lamar was backing up like 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage by that point due to the pressure. It's not like he was just sitting back there scanning the field.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic though since Allen did in fact miss a wide open receiver just last week on 4th down with no pressure.

And another the week before to Kumerow.

Josh missed guys in the first half.  But since we're splitting hairs, do I pick JA17 over Lamar?  Yep, by a wide margin.

Yes on the Poyer pick, no not being sarcastic at all-there eventually was pressure but the def line wasn’t trying to put pressure on him, they were just trying to clog the lane so he couldn’t run. Lamar drifted back on his own, there was no need for him to do that. He should’ve seen that guy a lot sooner, since that’s where Andrews was too.
josh might have missed McKenzie last week, but it’s not because he missed he was open-he just had nothing left and made a poor throw. Josh’s mistake was physical, Lamar’s was mental

Josh bounced one last week, everyone has misses.

Eventually he did have pressure and we don't know if the guy was open initially when there was no pressure. But i 100% agree that Lamar is not a rhythm passer. Allen can both be a rhythm passer and play off script like Lamar. Allen can literally do everything that has been shown to be possible for an NFL QB. The only one in the league with that skill set.

Lamar is certainly not a rhythm passer like Allen is. That is a flaw in his game. He gets a lot of easy completions because he extends plays and puts a lot of pressure on defenses with his legs so receivers are running wide open. Makes for some easy throws.

Weather was terrible....  Allen did not have his best game, but made some incredible plays.  The pass to Knox and Diggs were great.  Lamar extended plays and made easy completions.

Yes a little biased, but that is what I see.

You just can't discount his easy completions though. They are easy because defenses have to account for him running and he is extending plays. All of that makes Lamar a great football player. But he's not at the Mahomes and Allen level because those two players can do a lot of what Mahomes does while also being capable of running a rhythm passing game.

He did it only a week ago when he bounced a pass from the 2 yard line to a wide open McKenzie in the end zone on 4th down with 1:49 to go.....

Neither great, but saw all of Lamar's warts.

Lamar is a great quarterback but there are deficiencies

To quote the great Don Shula regarding David Wooldley. He’s an athlete trying to play QB, Lamar is not at the level of Allen, Mahomes, Rodgers or Brady or even Burrow for that matter. He’s probably the greatest athlete I’ve seen since Vick but as a passer he’s average.
