BTW, remember when Xi Q DeSantis voted against aid for Hurricane Sandy victims?

In January 2013, DeSantis — newly elected to Florida’s 6th Congressional District, which covers Jacksonville through the north of Orlando — voted against flood insurance assistance for victims of Hurricane Sandy, after it recently wreaked havoc on the New York-New Jersey area.

Only one playing politics, @B-Man - is DeSantis!

Oh I know why Jimmy... "cost" too much and spread out over too many years, blah blah blah.

NY/NJ politicians should return the favor this fall, right?

Politics, right?

What comes around goes around... and the young Congressman (at the time) from a state that gets hit annually should have known that.

Fiscal responsibility!!   This is what we need in leadership.

You stick with the “spend to oblivion” government.  It’s working out swimmingly well wouldn’t you agree?  🙄

lmao - you're going to cry about fiscal responsibly NOW after Trump blew the national debt so high (EVEN BEFORE THE PANDEMIC) that it continues to weigh down our economy today and will for years?

Oh, wait, I just remembered:

How is it weighing down our economy?

What happened to the national debt under the Trump administration?

Instead of paying down the debt like he promised - he gave a huge tax cut to the rich and corporate America - which took a huge hit on federal revenue and what did Trump continue to do?  He just kept on spending...

Trump predicted the economy would grow at a home-run pace with no recessions for the next decade, and he proposed massive cuts to education, health care and other nondefense parts of the budget that will not be enacted.

“We have $21 trillion in debt. When this [the 2017 tax cut] really kicks in, we’ll start paying off that debt like it’s water.”

Then COVID hit...

So, instead of being proactive and do what he promised - cut the debt - he spent spent spent - and the dug us deeper into a deeper hole when COVID hit...

DeSantis faces the true test of any Florida governor

FTA:

Through Monday, DeSantis held three briefings at the Emergency Operations Center, a regular venue for governors managing storm responses.

He praised the Biden administration after the president on Saturday declared a state of emergency for Florida, which allows FEMA to begin coordinating efforts ahead of the arrival of the storm. It was a rare compliment from a governor who has used Biden as a political heel on a range of partisan issues as he prepares for what could be a 2024 run for the White House.

“They stand by ready to help, so we appreciate that quick action,” DeSantis said.
