9/25/22 Gameday Bills at Dolphins Pregame Thread

Allow me to take a positive spin on all this.

Hyde is out for the season, that sucks. He and Poyer are 31 and Bills need to find out eventually what they have behind them. We’ve all heard good things about Johnson and Hamlin, now we will know how high safety is going to be on the need list this year.

As for the injuries, other than one (maybe two) the rest are all short term. Bills are a stacked team, I can’t help but wonder if these might be painful blessings in disguise. Why do I say that? The injuries may keep this team from peaking too early, and now our depth has much needed experience.

I'm not going to lie. I'm worried about this game. I want to win badly because of all the Tua hype and also knowing the Bills need to keep pace for the 1 seed.

So I have done what I typically do when I want to win badly. I'm paying for a W. Put some heavy bets on the Dolphins this week.

My concerns are the Bills offense is way overdue for a below average game. Hopefully not a terrible game but a below average game could be enough to keep the score uncomfortably close. And I mentioned in another thread I think Miami is going to have success on the ground if they beat the Bills today. The Bills run defense has been great but I think the McDaniel running game will have some new wrinkles in it today and Miami has a lot of speed compared to say the Titans and Derrick Henry. So while we shut the Titans down we will likely need a different game plan against Miami's personnel.

Also, I'm not as concerned about our secondary simply because I still see Tua as a limited QB and the Bills have one of the best pass rushes in the league. McDermott and Frazier have always gotten great secondary play out of the team too. Where they sometimes slip up is in stopping the run.

I don't think running will be a big part of their game plan with 2 rookie CBs starting. They are going to test those rookies after torching the Ravens rookies last week.

I thought it was just me. Fought with the damn thing all morning. Finally just went to wgr website and clicked play and it’s working (for now). I simply can’t miss the drunk callers later - win or lose its botta be lit

I found an alternative app that's working, radio.net

One saving grace we have is that both Rookie CB's have both been getting playing time in the first 2 games of the season.  And honestly, both are doing pretty good considering.

Another is both backup Safeties have been on the team for multiple years and know the scheme very well.

Remember, Poyer and Hyde were not scorching the earth on fire with their play before they signed with Bills.

The scheme really allows DB's to excel.
