He's actually trying to praise Allen, but the whole segment was just strange and awkward. And he is operating under the assumption that Allen has not already been a cerebral QB who reads defenses, sets up defenders, etc. It's a load of bull crap. Allen is elite in all aspects and has been for awhile. Â Yes, he is getting even better, but Allen didn't have some epiphany about such a fundamental aspect of quarterbacking. It's pretty disrespectful and shows that these people don't know what they are talking about. They view Allen as a physical freak, but they are just now learning about how smart he is and how cerebral he is as a QB.
