The truth can be a downer.  We will miss those yards from Beasley and Sanders!

They haven't had much sucess before with their type of zone defense.  So - what's to change the results?

Do you watch the games?   Did you read at the stats posted in this thread in the first page, they tell you that you are wrong.

Great players like Kelce and Kupp are going to make some plays.  We will not shut them down entirely but we can be effective against them.

The Bills always have problems with dominate tight ends and a great slot receiver.  Kupp had 145 receptions last year - amazing!

Will our defense change?  What is the answer with a rather questionable defensive backfield starting in early 2022?

Thoughts!

I don’t think the D really changes until it gets to full capacity, if it gets to full capacity….our ends are still learning, we have two rookie CBs, once everyone gets experience and Tre comes back, I expect a more aggressive D when that happens, maybe against Cincy, or we wait until the playoffs…..

Wish @Chandler#81 was still a mod - this chump would have been shown the door after the first stupid topic - not allowed to start his 4th troll thread after his “comeback”.

Just ban the troll.

When did Chandler step down/get demoted? 😂

Joking aside, kudos to anyone who agrees to be a mod.  Not easy on a board this active, and with interest in the Bills growing, membership will increase(including trolls).

Saffold and Quessenberry, Crowder, Shakir, Cook.

No reinforcements or upgrades there?

We shall see.

Call me crazy, but I’m hoping we don’t see Saffold or Quess covering slots and TE

The fact is both teams are going to be challenged. Bills will have a tough time with Kupp, Robinson, and Jefferson.

The Rams are going to have to put up with Davis, Diggs, McKenzie, Knox and of course Allen on the field at the same time

Defensive coordinators will have limited sleep dealing with these offenses with so many threats to make big plays at any time.

Yes, no notable upgrades.

Daryl Williams played every offensive snap last year and had tackle flexibility.     Saffold missed about 5 games worth of snaps to chronic shoulder issues for TN.    They rated about the same as blockers when both available but TN grew tired of Saffold bouncing in and out of games.   Saffold was cheaper and familiar with Kromer.......though not nearly as cheap as you'd hope given his age and availability concerns.

Quessenberry lead all NFL tackles in sacks allowed in 2021.    As a right tackle, no less.  He WAS cheap though.

I hope that Kromer elevates the play of the entire OL but they didn't import notable talent.

Crowder has been banged up the past few years......had a terrible 2021..........and disappointed in offseason workouts and camp.   Shakir looks good and could win the starting slot role sometime this season,  but he's a rookie.   They are replacing two receivers who put up about 1400 yards last season in Beasley and Sanders.

It remains to be seen how Cook will even fit in.   Singletary is a producer.   Cook will have to be explosive in limited touches to earn more of them over Singletary and underwhelmed in such circumstances in the preseason.

The Bills are counting on A LOT more from the holdover players than they got from them last season.......more consistency from Allen, Davis, Knox, Bates, McKenzie, Moss, Spencer Brown, the 2021 covid compromised Dion Dawkins.......

Why over analyze everything so much?  Its football season.  College starts this weekend.  Pros next Thursday nite.  Best time of the year.  We have a great team with an amazing QB.  We looked as good as any team in the league when we played our starters against Denver two weeks ago.  We are ready.  Its going to be a great ride.  Take a breath and enjoy it.  Beane and McDermott know what wins in the NFL.  I like our chances to be in the mix for the Super Bowl come January.  That's all that matters right now.

Gabe coming off the bench feels like a big acquisition. Also kromer has the potential to help put this team over the top.

Sneaky "upgrades"
