Can you even imagine what a "positive vibes only" post from ScottLaw would look like?

It would be back handed in some way

Thought there might be a chance they kept Bryant and waived Settle.  Bryant looked pretty good.  But we have a team now where we wind up cutting good players that belong in the league.

Settle is 100 times the player Bryant is or will be.

He’s still better than Sweeney who is hot garbage… can’t believe he’s still on the team.

McDermott and Beane disagree.  We are fans watching what they do.  All of us have opinions that they disagree with.

I'm not a huge Sweeney fan but my hope now is he can improve his blocking with help from Kromer.

He definitely did not show big play ability, but he did show his ability to provide contested catches and his strong sideline awareness.

The problem is, he needed to provide contested catch ability because he couldn't achieve separation against backups.

No.  The information on cuts right now isn't coming from the Bills, but from the player's agents as recounted to national guys like Schefter etc, or from local guys like Ryan Talbot who with his brother Damond Talbot has some connections especially with the small school, UDFA players.

The difference you're seeing between "hope to sign him to the practice squad" is whether the news comes from a national reporter with strong agent connections (like Schefter or Rapaport) or a local reporter with player connections (like Talbot)

brilliant I had no idea. Thank you

Depth WR for sure, but I like that he profiles more on the outside vs our current 3-5 WR who are best in the slot. Our outside WR depth is really bad if Diggs or Davis misses time

Didn’t see the separation. He’s also more of a big slot WR. The Bills covet separation over size. I don’t think outside vs inside matters too much to them.

Agree… With Howard being cut, their only significant offensive FA added to the off-season was an aging Roger Saffold. 😅

I expect we will have a significantly improved running game with the addition of Saffold and a frankly much better OL coach.  We have Allen, he dictates everything a defense has to do.

You’re both conveniently forgetting Quessenberry to champion your cause. All Quess’ has done his entire career is block his guy.

I know McBeane loves their ST specialists…but I’ll be disappointed if we couldn’t have let go at least ONE of Jones/Matakevich/Kumerow to make room for a guy like Hodgins

The importance of special teamers may have increased due to dumpster diving for a punter.

Well this is certainly an optimistic way how to look at things.

I can imagine another perspective. The one where we keep Morris for his actual and amazing cap $705K, and not for "adjusted" cap hit of $3,3M you just calculated :)

Sure, it would have been nice if Howard could still move.  He didn't look good in preseason and there wasn't a lot of positive talk about him

during camp.  I was for the signing, but it just ended up being a miss.

The flip side is, if he was kept and played bad fans would criticize Beane for keeping him because of the cap money.

It's a lose, lose situation and it seems they want the best players possible.
