Enough is enough, when are people going to start pushing back against the NFL and star athletes?

Hey, as long as this continues with some athletes being treated as above the law and the NFL just slaps their hand then the NFL and it’s “employees” will never have to clean up their act. Politics, we see it in our government and we see it in our sports, these athletes have gotten way out of control. As outrageous as this has become imagine if it were your sister or daughter that was victimized. As of now it’s just women that you hear about but if it were to hit home it would compound it immensely. Something needs to be put into place by being regulated by a third party, it’s WAY overdue! It’s disgusting that these people with no morals or conviction are in a position of authority.

How much punishment do you expect for a person the legal system felt couldn’t even be brought up on charges? I’m pretty sure this is bar far the stiffest penalty with no arrest. Let’s not overreact here and understand the circumstances for what they are.

Why is this thread about the NFL and not the legal system?

Welcome to the world of the rich and famous.

Great point. If someone is going to criticize the NFL,an employer, what about all the other employers out there? Is there indignation directed at every single company who employs a person that is suspected/charged/sued...? Obviously the NFL is targeted because it is a multi billion dollar industry that is in the public eye.

Sounds like a bunch of crap with no thought.  The NFL is not to blame.  This is not an NFL issue as it occurs both in and sports.

Be upset, but direct your anger correctly at the person and the legal system.

If you want to start - leave the fandom, but then give up everything NFL - like the board, give up everything from private companies as they do not punish, give up the US as you stated it is seen in politics, go find a small cave where you can live alone and have your morals.

You can scavenge for food and make your own clothes and furniture and be free from this tyranny- if not then you are supporting amoral people all of the time and why you think you should hold the NFL above every other company and government is stupid.

Why don't you do yourself a favor and include team owners in your title and diatribe.

Your post is actually understated. Deshaun Watson faces penalities the average person would never face because he is rich and famous, not in spite of it.

The guy got suspended 11 games and was fined $5 million dollars. What more do people want besides a full season suspension?

Not a whole season but better then 6 games and he paid out fines and settlements. Not making excuses for Watson because he sounds like a scumbag but the reality is this happens all the time. I am sure the Browns checked with league offices about potential penalties before they awarded him the highest guaranteed contract ever and sent out huge draft capital.

Rottenchester, please don’t hold back.

Say what you’re really thinking.  🤩🦬.

Just kidding.  I tend to agree this is more of a post that would be fine in the Watson thread.

I think if I understand you is simply personal accountability.  The bottom line  for me is Watson is a disgusting animal and unfortunately shouldn’t have been enabled by the Texans, but they didn’t make him victimize so many women.

As far as the punishment, I would’ve preferred a full year and $10-20 mil.  It didn’t happen and moving on.

Watson is not the only one, just the latest. It  did go to court and was ruled sexual assault. Goodell went on record earlier this month and condemned it and had a strong opinion on the act and the punishment. So what changed since then?

The One/two percenters have always had a different Justice system to contend with, it’s been that way ever since there were rich people, does it suck? Sure it does, but not if you are in the club…,
