Why do you point out the defense was ranked #1 and then dont mention how the offense was ALSO number 1 and number 1 for 2 consecutive seasons?  Instead when talking offense you want to point out a specific unit instead while not doing the same for the defense.  I didn't make anything up, I simply pointed out that its a FACT our defense has not been on the same level as our offense.

The Bills offense wasn't ranked #1 in the NFL in either 2020 or 2021.

So kudos for trying to actually use a stat...........but it is a FACT that you made it up............so you are still just bickering blindly.

The weakest unit on the team was the offensive line..........there was not a close second............and there was no comparably weak overall unit on the defense.

I was referring to the AFC, where we were the top scoring offense 2 years in a row.  Its the AFC playoffs we have not made it out of yet to reach a SB.  So no, I didnt make that stat up, its fact.

And there was no comparably weak unit on the defense?  WOW...did you even watch last season?  Or did you just watch the games where we played bad teams?  Because we sure struggled with getting run all over on by better teams, not to mention not being able to get to Mahomes again killed us.

What happened the last 2 seasons?  We got bounced in the AFCCG by the Chiefs in 2020, then again in the 2nd round by the Chiefs in 2021.  What happened the very next game for the Chiefs both seasons?  Lost both games...SB to Bucs after the Bucs D dominated the Chiefs and AFCCG this year they lost to the Bengals after the Bengals defense shut down the Chiefs in the second half and dominated them.

So sorry, to sit here and pretend our Defense which gave of 42 points to Chiefs including 2 TDs and a FG in under 3 minutes of play at the end of the game was not the bigger issue is just crazy.  Especially since the team we have NOT been able to get past keeps getting bounced the following week by DEFENSE.

Who cites being first in the AFC in scoring as being #1 in the NFL in offense?

That's not a thing.

Utter douchebaggery on your part.

Here are the FACTS:

The Bills defense ranked #1 in the entire NFL in 2021.

They ranked first in points allowed and permitted the fewest defensive TD's.

They ranked first in yardage allowed, yards per play,  passing yardage allowed and passing TD's allowed.

And they finished 3rd in turnovers despite playing the fewest plays of any defense in the NFL.

But you claim that the offense was not only better than the defense last season........but CLEARLY better..........when the Bills were upset by lesser opponents in 4 games where their offense averaged less than 12 points scored.

47 points scored in 4 games...........it's drought-level-defense-of-Dick-Jauron to suggest that the offense didn't cost them home field advantage and that not having home field wasn't critical for a team that was 0-3 in the playoffs on the road under McDermott.

You’re talking about the regular season…..

not the game that ended our season.  The game in which the offense carried the defense and was the ONLY reason we had a chance to win that game.  Against the team that knocked us out the last two years.

But maybe we should talk more about the Jags game.

our defense was SHREDDED to end both seasons.  Shredded by an offense that was  held in check the following game in both cases.

The 4 games he mentioned:

1.  Season opener:  Clearly the O was flat footed.  Maybe a little more preseason work?

2.  Colts:  D gave up a season high of 41 points.

3.  MNF NE:  Gale force winds.  A 4 point loss.

4.  JAX:  A comedy of errors.  3 turnovers and 12 penalties.  The O didn't take JAX seriously and lost the game.

Their offensive line was absolutely blitzed in both the Jax and Pit game.

NE loss was more about them shooting themselves in the foot on offense as well as trying to force the run throughout much of the first half and 3rd quarter when clearly incapable.

Dawkins was out.  Maybe we should’ve spent 7M on a backup tackle that way we wouldn’t have had to move Brown over to the left.

Against who?

The jags

edit:  errrr my bad. He missed the Carolina game.  Brown got destroyed by Allen vs the jags

I watched the jags game on my phone.  Got scheduled to work and didn’t call out because I got cocky (like the rest of the team did).  Figured it would be a wash.

Cody Ford lost the Jacksonville game.  The Jags identified the weak spot and kept attacking it, like a boxer going after a bloody eye.

Yeah, I remember Taven Bryan having the game of his life.  Brown was terrible too.

The line was beyond brutal that game and against Pittsburgh… and Carolina for that matter…

Until the last month of the season the Bills were the worst pass blocking unit in the league............and they still were among the very worst at allowing pressure on their QB at the end of the season.

Using Josh Allen like RB1 out of desperation down the stretch limited the ability of the opposing defense to pin their ears back........muting the pass rush.........and the Bills were aware that is how it works..........it's why they ran him hard in the first KC matchup.

They will put hard miles on him like a rented mule in big games.    And that's fine..........but you can't then lose to Jacksonville when you want him to win from the pocket.

QB's running the ball take the teeth out of all defenses.........it's also something the Chiefs knew would negate some of the strengths of the Bills defense in the playoffs..........which is why Mahomes was tucking and running on 3rd down instead of forcing the ball into coverage.    He actually had a better day rushing than Allen in that divisional round game.
