Nancy Pelosi's Planned Trip To Taiwan Has China Up In Arms. (Should she stay or should she go?)

We didn't build the biggest and baddest military in the world to be bullied by two autocratic countries.  Show strength and they'll crawl back into their usual fetal positions.

Eh, I wouldn't go that far.

But this is the same China who we practically begged to help stop Russia's invasion of Ukraine and avert this war. Which would have been the ideal solution for everyone.

And its the same China that pretty much laughed in our face, told the Russians we were on to them, and cheered Russia on from the sidelines.  When China thought Russia was going to conquer the country in four days, of course.

Do you really think a war between the US and China will look like that? A bunch of glamorous infantrymen, tanks and attack choppers valiantly fighting each other til the best man wins?

No

A war between the US and China would be missiles flying thousands of miles across the ocean at each other.  There is no logistics in the world that will have our infantry fighting theirs. We are geographically too far apart.

A war between us and them would be exclusively long range missiles, and most likely the destruct of civilization.

Of course that's what it would look like.

The point was about how the current militaries in those nations choose to portray themselves.

Appealing to the woke <10% of your population in your outreach is having the exact expected effect with military recruitment falling well short of quotas in the US.

This US recruitment film is a joke, right?  If its not either start taking Russian and Chinese language lessons or join a well-armed militia being necessary.

Well it IS a joke, but not intentionally.  Official US Army ad.

I just finished reading chapter 1 of your new book, "1,001 Ways To Bring Up Trump In Any Conversation".

But Trump hosted said fascist at his NJ home this week.

All relevant.

You really need to make better choices so they don’t haunt you later.

I don't think we are gonna be upgrading to new iphones every year anymore....

The real reason China is pissed about Nancy's visit? Could it be TSMC moving it's manufacturing to the US and Japan?

It takes like 25 years to build one of those factories, Taiwan really really really needs to stay democratic.

That's why the world's two most super of super powers have such a hardon for little old Taiwan.

It took them 25 years to build up that foundry. But it can be recreated much quicker. It looks like we've made it a condition of building their new factory here that they can't sell to China. China no likey.
