Blue Helmet w/ White Standing Buffalo?

The Bills need to stop delaying and/or messing around and just announce the '90s throwbacks already.

However, I'm legitimately concerned that Kim's illness has caused them to shelve plans. There have been reports that she is heavily involved in uniform planning.

It would be really disappointing for the Bills to not do anything when all these teams are doing something, especially when fans have been clamoring for it for years, unlike many of these teams who have made moves.

No on blue helmets that reminds of UB Bulls football that the Buffalo Bills would be copying. Again I am a UB Bulls fan but that is for them we are the Bills stay in our own team identity. Stay with the white helmets. If anything I would like to see the white helmets with the red standing Buffalo more than once a year. I would like to reverse it the current white helmets with the charging Buffalo once or twice a year and the white helmets with the standing red Buffalo as the Bills permanent helmet. Especially if the Bills are going to play on grass again go to the standing red Buffalo like our grass field War Memorial Stadium days.

I wasn’t a fan of the red helmets because Fergy couldn’t see back in the day the other AFC East teams defenders and I am still not a fan we lost 4 Super Bowls in those red helmets they don’t bring back good memories we lost Super Bowls and they represent a lot of failure disappointment but if the Bills play some games in them that is fine. But I am old and I don’t consider the red helmets heritage or classic Bills helmets the white helmets with the red standing Buffalo is the Bills classic look. Go with the white helmets with standing red Buffalo we won two AFL championships in those helmets in my opinion. Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

One last point point when the new Bills stadium opens with grass field I would like to see like the War Memorial Stadium painting of the grass in the 1960’s Bills designs they had tiny Buffalo’s or different Bills word markings in the end zones on there highlight films you can see different Buffalo Bills designs markings in the end zones that the Bills would switch up so it wasn’t always the same design. Go Bills!

The urban legend is that it was Kelly who was colorblind and thus the red helmets. I'm not aware of it being related to Ferguson.

No to the blue helmet. They never used one in the past though it is a cool look.  Bring back late 80's red helmet and Navy blue uniform for one week.

Not opposed to the blue helmet, but a white buffalo?

That's a no for me dawg.

god no, charging will always be the better art

Standing is the better art, but charging is better for a football helmet. IMO, both kinda suck if not for being the logos of my favorite team. I would love a tasteful redesign.

No.  It was Fergy who was colorblind resulting in the switch to red helmets.  The Bills wore red helmets for years before Kelly joined the team.

No, it was Fergy. They changed to the red helmets starting with the 1984 season. Kelly did not sign with the Bills until 1986.

"1984: The Bills announced that they would switch from white helmets to red ones. While the color changed, the charging blue Buffalo remained the same. Supposedly, the color change was meant to help quarterback Joe Ferguson distinguish his receivers from the defensive backs of the Patriots, Dolphins, and Colts, teams that all wore white helmets."

I saw a white buffalo running wild through Colorado a few weeks ago. It made read up it native culture: "When a white buffalo calf is born, it is a sign that their prayers are being heard and that the promises of the prophecy are being fulfilled."

I don't think the blue helmet is a good idea, but the white Buffalo could be kind of cool to do a theme around.

Does anyone else want to see this?

With all the alternative helmets coming out; I think the Bills should come out with a blue helmet for the first time with a Great White Buffalo. I think they would look nice with all white uniforms

I actually like this.

The closest thing on the web I found is this (but the red makes it too much NY Giants like):

Better yet, for my preferences, at least (but with white buffalos and no buffalo stripe):

You have got it backwards.

Ferguson was colorblind - hence the change to red helmets.  It had nothing to do with Kelly - the helmets were already red when he arrived.

Either way....Red was an assist to the qb, so stick with it.

I don’t know whether Fergy was color blind, but it was absolutely during his time that the decision was made to change the helmet color because all of the other teams in the division (Colts, Dolphins, Pats, Jets) had white helmets at the time.
