I don't like to call posters out by name but as far as Jauron, there was one poster who defended him for years. He is either gone or has changed his screen name. The Whitner pick? MANY posters defended this pick, stating that he was "good;" as if this justified the selection.

Bill, I agree we should have healthy conversation.  When the Bills drafted Whitner instead of you "gotta N'Gata" I was confused.  At the time, I was into researching the draft aggressively.  When the Bill selected Whitner, I said "who".

I was not researching Safeties for the 8 slot at the time.  I thought it was  a 2nd round position.

Not only that, he was the second safety selected. He also had a domestic incident while at training camp, was a holdout, and collected approx. 36 million dollars in salary, all in real cap dollars.

I heard Levy say on the Sirius NFL Channel that he turned down "numerous trade offers" for that pick.

Sad but true.

Doesn't deserve its own thread...and wasn't sure where to post this but a discussion about young players that might get cut seems like the best option.  I keep seeing a really annoying headline posted different places that says "Bills release Devin Singletary hype video" so of course every damn time I read the part that says "Bills release Singletary" and wonder what the hell happened.  They might as well link the headline to that picture of Peter Pan.

No.  I think Ford is the closest to the door.  Moss and Epenesa have modest contracts and both have flashed as starting caliber players.  Honestly, during the drought years all would be obvious starters now they are in the 40’s maybe 50 in roster rank.

All three have modest contracts, none of them get out right cut, I can see Beane working one of them in a trade deal, we all know our GM & HC don’t give up on high draft picks when they are still in their first contracts…,

Go Bills!!!

Further proof that Levy while a good HC was a horrible GM.

I'm 100% keeping Moss.  I'll trust Beane when he referenced him still dealing with the aftereffects of his injury last year.  Moss looked good in his rookie year and I'd rather have him as an option in 2023 playing for a contract should Singletary walk.

Epenesa.. this guy was viewed as a top 10 pick heading into his last year at Iowa.  I'm certainly giving him this year, with Von and the other young guys, to try and make his mark.  It takes EDGE rushers time to develop and Year 2/Year 3 is typically when it happens for them, if it's going to happen.

Ford is definitely in a fight for a roster spot.  I'd keep him because he showed legit talent at OU, but I'm not sure he fits Kromer's athletic profile.  I have a ton of confidence in Aaron Kromer and will be fine with whoever he decides makes the cut.

Moss will be retained as depth at RB.  Epenesa will as well.  Maybe Ford will be released, as he is on his last year of the rookie contract, so only because he is cheap, maybe is 9th on the depth chart.

Hopefully he never sees the field as it was ugly just about every time he was on the field.

Maybe at the TJ Yeldon/Matt Breida sense in that likely 3rd on the depth chart and only see action in a handful of games baring injuries.

This is something that really dumbfounds me.  How do you get such a good get off but then get stonewalled?

It's probably because of his smallish size, it helps with quickness but why he can't really finish and easily gets tossed aside by NFL lineman.

Sadly reminds me a lot of Aaron Maybin and why he was a complete bust other than one season with Rex Ryan and the Jets when he had 6 sacks as an OLB/situation pass rusher.

Bottom line is NFL DE's need both size and quickness.

Moss might be a 4th or 5th string RB at this point.  Motor, Cook, Johnson ahead of him.  I highly doubt Ford can turn it around and Epenesa has flashed from time to time.  He’s a great / cheap rotational player at this point.

Everyone seems to forget Taiwan Jones. I would cut HIM before Moss.

Any stat that has AJ better than Myles Garrett is a stat that can be instantly disregarded as useless.

It just says he’s better at the beginning. That’s a good thing. Now, let’s figure out how to fix the middle and the finish. How much does AJ actually weigh this year, I wonder? From what I’ve seen he still looks pretty light.

During the drought years there are all starters.  I think Epenesa is a lock.  Than Moss than Ford.  I expect all three make it.   2 seconds and a third rder are on the bubble.  The depth of this roster is scary.  The journey man or undrafted guys have to play with their hair on fire to beat these guys out.  To make this roster you have to be a player.

The Athletic ran a Bills fan survey last year. One of the questions asked “who will lead the Bills backfield in carries?”. The majority of fans voted Zack Moss.

One injury plagued letdown of a season — in which, according to Beane, Moss could not cut off his left foot at all — and Bills fans have completely given up on him.

Funny, I remember just prior to last season, when most Bills fans had pretty much given up on Singletary, too.

I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it: Moss is going to have a bounceback season. He’s fully healthy, in great shape, and Aaron Kromer is going to improve the run blocking of our offensive line and shift it to more zone running, which suits Moss’ skill set.

I’m not saying he’s gonna be an All-Pro, but he’s gonna play productive snaps for this offense.

Ford is a bust. I’m done with him.

I’m not expecting much from Epenesa either, and I largely blame the coaching staff’s stupid plan to turn a power rusher into a speed rusher. They should have never asked him to do that. If they didn’t like what he was in college, they shouldn’t have drafted him.

So far, looks like I was correct about Moss and Ford, and wrong about Epenesa.

Of course, the preseason will tell us a lot more. But I'm hearing positive things about Moss and Epenesa, and haven't heard a single positive thing about Ford.

I think Ford is probably on the outside of the 53 looking in as we are sitting here today. They have the presumed starting 5: Dawkins, Saffold, Morse, Bates, Brown and then their top tackle depth (Quess), their top interior depth (Van Roten) and their specialist center backup (which at the moment I'd say is Mancz). That leaves probably 1 spot and I think they are more interested in continuing to develop Doyle than Ford at this point.

Moss and AJE would not be shocking cuts, but I expect both to make the 53 as we sit here today.

I think Doyle has shown better than Ford.

This may be lacking in intelligence, but I believe Moss may have some trade value.  I am not saying how much, but some.
