Without checking, I think it must be the first time.  Ralph Wilson, who lived near Detroit, always wanted that game.

For me the preseason games it’s all about watching the rookie class !!
And also finding a WR who will be on the PS and then pounding the table for him to start !!!

Nope.  I remembered it happened recently, so I went digging...

2018

Bills played Panthers, @Browns, Bengals, @Bears

Lions played @Raiders, Giants, @Bucs, Browns

And technically 2020, but they were scheduled for Week 4.

I'll be looking forward to seeing captain cook set sail in the preseason.

I agree though. I always look forward to the first game and after 5 minutes wonder why I gave a *****. A happy sign though that football is around the corner

Preseason was more interesting when we sucked.

Preseason is my chance to bring my 5 yr old daughter to a game. She isn't ready for regular season games, yet. (Probably isn't ready for regular season ME, yet.) She went to that ungodly hot kids' day last preseason, and I need to keep her connected with another game this year. Not sure when the team announces which game it will be of the two home games. I remember it always being the 2nd preseason home game, back when each team played 2/2.

I really wish the NFL did a better job of promoting the schedule. We barely hear anything about it

to your point, since school is out about now at all levels, why not bring back the old punt-pass-kick kids friendly competition, have the players show-up for some of the competitions, get  somelocal and national sponsors, have some balls, posters, pennant, jersey, autographs, mini-helmet giveaways, move the final rounds of the competition to the the NFL stadiums for pre-game, preseason entertainment, if the kids are involved the family is involved...

I’m in the same boat. Brought my then 4 year old up for last year and it was brutally hot. Our seats are on the sunny side too. Took lots of “breaks” in the concourse to at least get some shade and we were back in the vehicle with AC blasting mid 3rd quarter. He was a trooper though and loved it! Even got over to Bar Bill to destroy some wings post game after we got cleaned up. Hoping they’ll announce it soon so I can get a hotel booked although probably should just book both Saturday's and cancel.

No injuries that is priority #1. You want the starters to start getting into game shape and shake off the rust. You want to see how the rookies do. But most important is no injuries.
