There is an Aldi and Save A Lot 1.9 miles away at the Broadway Market which is a 6 minute car ride.

6 minutes. Not 10. Not 15. Not 30. Not 45. Six.

I'm stunned the narrative being written is like this is the only store within an hour drive of the residents there when it simply isn't true and the picture being painted is completely erroneous to the situation that actually exists.

I think it’s more about not having anything for the people who don’t/can’t drive.

I moved away upon retirement to an outer suburb of Philly Pa , my heart and soul is 100 per cent Buffalo.. Was moved , like so many , how the Bills , Sabres, and Bandit players showed up and actually took part.. was not a superficial, BS act. I think it shows just how special Buffalo is.. The way  the  Mafia contributes league wide to various causes, what was accomplished in Josh's Grandmother's name at Children's Hospital epitomizes how special Buffalo is.. It is heartwarming and simply makes Buffalo unique is the most positive sense

Montgomery or Bucks County? I lived in Horsham/ Hatboro for about a decade.

Really good news from athletes at the pro level, it's refreshing to see. I guess drafting 'choir boys' does pay off. Organizational culture matters.

I'm old enough to remember when there were multiple food stores in the area. There were the B-Kwik markets that were up and down Jefferson Avenue. The A&P market between E.Ferry and Brunswick Blvd. Mr& Mrs. Cromer had their little market on E. Ferry near Doris Records that provided fresh produce. This was a thriving community at one point in time. The community I grew up in

Same.

Want to echo some posters in that I really really hope the Bills sell those Choose Love shirts with proceeds to benefit the 5/14 victims’ families and the community.

Please post in here if anyone hears that is the case.

Would love to buy one of those shirts as support.

tweeted both BuffaloBillsPR and then messaged the Bills on their website asking about this...no response as of yet to give.

Right there with you.

Hey now...we were in the mid 80s last week and it will be 87 tomorrow...nothing more than the normal May tug of war between spring and summer that happens here.

Fabulous showing by the Bills and other local teams. I'm glad they came out in force to support the community.

I have a question, but I don't want it to turn into something as I am not implying anything. Just simply asking:  Were Terry and/or Kim at the event. Just curious. No judgement.

I was curious about the same thing.  Like you not passing judgements but I feel they missed a really golden opportunity to demonstrate that the problem of hate needs everyone working to combat it to remove it as a source that let's these types of atrocities to occur.  Make no mistake until everyone is on board to eliminate hate these things won't stop happening.  It's why the Black Lives Matter movement has had limited success in preventing things like this from happening.  They narrowed the focus too much toward one group of people that attracts the attention of the hate that is the underlying enabler of these acts.  I never liked the Black Lives Matter slogan because it was too exclusive to one group of people. I believe it actually hurt progress as it promotes segregation instead of promoting integration.  Everyone has to work together to make significant and enduring changes that will benefit everyone not just try to right past wrongs.  History cannot be changed but learning from history can prevent repeating it.

I have always loved history because it is full of answers to all types of problems if you just dig into similar events as one you are trying to prevent.  Events that have been occurring for years now keep me researching history for some answers as to how to start to combat the problems we see that seem to be spreading rather than receding.  Lately the poem by Pastor Martin Niemoeller really jumps out to me from previous journeys I made  into history I found inspiring and that just screams out with words of wisdom and a path to undertake to make appropriate changes that can lead to the changes we all deserve to see grow and flourish.

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

While the slogan choose love is certainly powerful and a step in the right direction it falls short.  Speak out against injustices no matter how trivial they may seem to you because any injustice can create patches of resentment that can fester to create more of these incidents.  Injustice isn't exclusive to any group it's in abundance up and throughout life.  Failing to speak out will only repeat horrific events.

So if Terry and Kim had been front and center with the players and coaches of their pro teams that would have truly been a way to Speak Out.

let’s be real, in about 2 weeks, I’d rather be in WNY for a couple months.  It’s the winter months I don’t miss at all. NC’s version of cold is ~30* which is pretty tolerable for a couple weeks here and there, but the heat gets real in the summer.

Yeah but you guys get some crazy ice storms don't you?  Plus I would much rather have snow than a cold rain which I am sure falls there in the winter too as precip...

Yeah summers are brutal in that part of the country...well really in like 75% of the country...I will take our summers pretty much over anywhere...

I always said unless winters are in the 70s, it's not worth having to put up with summer heat AND winter cold
