Doc Brown Posted May 1, 2022 Share Posted May 1, 2022 It's a combination of a weak QB class and so many teams taking QB's in the first the last couple of drafts (nine total first rounders). If anything the fifth year option and the rookie wage scale and the fifth year option makes it more likely teams will draft a QB in the first. You don't have to make a Jamarcus Russell one of the highest paid QB in the NFL before he even takes a snap anymore.
