I might be an outlier here...... Draft needs

Do I really have to spell this out so literally?  Let's be nice.....

WR is very strong compared to OL (for example....).  If we TRADE UP, we have maybe 5 picks in this draft.  I'm hoping for OL, CB, RB, TE as early options.

Just because people, including me, are disagreeing with you doesn't mean we are not being nice.

Imo, you are off on your take except for beefing up the OL early in the draft. As an example, Speed at WR is a very clear need

One thing I've noticed about some bills fans on this board is that you have rose coloured glasses on on some topics.

Do you disagree that the OL needs a few key pieces?

Cornerback?

A dominant runningback?

Weren't you jealous of KC's Kelce?

That's basically what my thread was all about and the "needs" low on the list are negligible.

I disagree we need a top 3 round WR example....

Man some of you are dense....

Speed at WR would be nice for sure, but since we have 3 picks in the top 3 rounds, I'd prefer a dominant TE, and dominant RB. if I had to make that choice between a WR and those two options.

I agree that center and guard are a need.  Morse ranked poorly and could get hurt.  We fix the OL are average backs may perform slightly better, I would draft one but there does not seem like a great option in Rd 1-2.

I’d take WR higher.  Davis had a good year, but adding another top talent puts more pressure on the secondary and also helps the run game.

TE not so much, Knox has turned it on a d OJ Howard is a great No 2.

This is the most pinpoint response to the OP. While I understand why many responses have been to chastise his take, I also understand what he is saying. The needs are not exclusively WR3 and CB as many have denoted on the board. The team is a SB favorite because of Josh. But, if you take out Josh, Diggs and Gabe, where is the truly elite offense? The OL is okay, and will need to gel with Bates presumably switching sides and Saffold in the mix. Knox is building and did really well towards the end of the season, but is not the super-elite TE that KC, SF and LV enjoy at this point. There are holes without a doubt.

All that being said, CB has to be at the top of that list. Josh can make that O go, but if there's no true CB1 to start the season (with all due respect to Dane, that's not his fit at this point) there is a GIANT hole on one side of the field. Also, getting a CB2 under a rookie contract for 4 years is a very smart play.

This is bizarre.

"Completely lack TE option."

"Von Miller changed the story at linebacker."

Forgets we paid Morse, Saffold, and Bates to be our starting interior OL and wants an upgrade over all of them.

CB is 6th on the list even though he's only somewhat happy about one of our starters who also happens to be the slot corner.

Entertaining read though.

Nicely stated.  THANK-YOU!

Hey folks,

I might be an outlier here, but my mind has changed a few times in the lead up to the draft.  After we've added a few key pieces to our roster, and lost a few others, I'm starting to think that our draft needs have shifted.... surprisingly in my opinion to OFFENSE moreso than defense.

Hear me out.

Positional groups needs I think are in the following order of "need".  While I DO understand that some positions are more noticeable if the team is weaker at that position (like QB, Cornerback), here are our positional grouping needs  in order of weakest to strongest.

Center:  I feel that Center has been the most sneaky need this team has, and feel that the position MUST be upgraded in the early rounds, without question.  Not only do we lack depth but Morse needs and upgrade as the starter.

Tight End:  We have one of the best QB's in the league but completely lack the TE option on this team.  In KC, Kelce is such a threat that their WR's look that much better since safeties can't double cover or drop too deep for support.  I'd say a second rounder on TE is a serious option for the upcoming draft.

Guard:  Part of the reason we haven't had a great running game is due to the lack of a dominant, run-blocking front.  While I feel that our runningbacks in their own right don't exactly instill fear in opposing defenses, an upgrade at ONE guard spot could help in this regard.  Hoping for a balanced target, but one that has a nasty streak that can can create some inside lanes.  It MIGHT even help Moss elevate his game.

Runningback:  We suck.  Sorry but we do.  I used to be a big Tomlinson fan and have been longing to see a DOMINANT run game from the Bills.  Having the THUNDER to go with Allen's lightning would have a domino effect of helping out Diggs/Davis on the outside.  Stack the box?  Well that would help our NEW TE, as well as our WRs.

Defensive End:  Yes, I know I'm an outlier here, but IF we don't bring back Hughes, I feel that's a bigger loss than some on this board feel.  Boogie, Epensa, Addison, Lawson are all playing at a backup level (on this playoff caliber team).

Cornerback:  This is where I have cornerback, but it likely bumps up to somewhere near the top because, like I mentioned, corner is one of those positions where you've GOT to have quality starters or the whole game will unravel.  I think we need not one, but two additions.  I think that Taron Johnson might be the only corner I feel somewhat happy with.  Siran Neal should NOT start.

Offensive Tackle:  Could use an upgrade, and if we go OT, it would be a good idea.  HOWEVER, if there are "equal quality" players on the board with any of the above positions, you have to go with another player.

Linebacker:  NOT a fan of our depth, but Von Miller changed the whole story here.  If Edmunds turns it around, this could be a very good group.  Thumbs down to Milano.

FINAL ON MY LIST is WR:  It used to be higher, and I DO think we should draft a WR outside of the first 3 rounds UNLESS some amazing wideout slips to us.  I like our top 2 WR, and Crowder in the slot.  Can we do better than Crowder?  Yes, BUT again, I'd rather add a dominant TE and/or RB..... and/or an upgrade(s) to our OL.

Okay............    let me have it.

Be gentle.  lol

Forgot to mention:  S and QB not a draft need right now.

I disagree with Center being a top need as Morse got an extension and Bates can swing over if needed. Tight End is a need in that are top 2 are UFAs after this season and doubt both stay after this season. I think we could draft one from Round 4 and below. Guard is interesting as Stafford likely not a long term solution but I can't see going for a non starter in Round 1 yet could get a quality guy at #25 that could step in and start in 2023 with Stafford retired. RB needs an upgrade and/or compliment to Motor. DE is a position you can always add depth too yet we're 5 deep and be tough for any rookie to crack it. CB is a need if think Tre won't be back in late September plus depth on the outside is questionable and nice with one returnability. OT I add one to the mix. LB if a good one falls am good taking one. WR isnt a top round need to me as it depends me of the Gabe Davis draft where can find good guys everywhere but again nice to have one that can return kicks. I could also see us taking a chance on a punter. The kid from PSU feels right to me in Round 5 or 6.

You just listed the only 3 teams in the league with a better TE1 than the Bills. And we signed Howard so I'm not worried about TE depth at all. Last year we were going into games with only 1 active TE on the roster.

Edit to add the Bucs to the list of teams with a better TE1 if Gronk returns. Still not worried about our level of TE talent.

If we are set at TE, why were the Bills considering Gronkowski?  I do like Knox.  Great character, and I agree that he showed improvement down the stretch.  I'm hungry to beat KC.....    Bills need a superbowl and any improvement would be welcome.

Now you are moving the goalposts…we are saying we are set at TE AFTER they signed Howard and we would be saying the same thing if they signed Gronk.

The article you linked is before FA even began.

I agree, and like Knox quite a bit. I shouldn't have denoted TE as a hole, but as an area where we would love to see improvement to ensure that we have the elite talent required to win a SB.

Appreciated.  Would rather chat with fans with more than one brain cell....

Talk about being nice.......

I agree we should draft Kelce in the first.  You would have to be stupid not to take Kelce if he drops to us.

I was disappointed in that signing.
