NYS state budget meeting with regards to new stadium.

Glad to see the Bills and NYS have come to agreement, but there seems to be a lot of opposition from down state law makers.  Is this stadium deal a lock, or can the NYS assembly still blow the whole thing up?  Being a bills fan for 45 year, I'm always worried how we seem to get close and at the last minute and there's always something the screws us in the end.  I guest I'm just conditioned to expect the worse when to come to the Bills.

A lock - politicians like to b*tch about it for political reasons but would never cut their throats by taking a stand

The NY papers & the Albany Times Union newspaper are crying like they just got carjacked.  I hope the decision makers don't block it.  The papers keep ignoring the fact that the Bills owners are TENANTS and will not own the stadium.

With Seneca Nation releasing $564 million in payments to the state I'd say the stadium is a lock
"Gov. Kathy Hochul tweeted Tuesday night that the money will go toward the new Bills stadium.

“We’ve secured $564 million in payments owed to State & local governments,” Hochul wrote. “These funds were generated in Western New York & will support the State’s share of the new Buffalo Bills stadium. Remaining funds will go directly to Western New York communities.”"

Likely what would happen is all the representatives from Western NY, as far east as Rochester would get together and agree they will not vote to pass anything including the yearly budget and for a long while anything for downstate.  Plus any democrats will get alot of pressure from the Governor and also from Shummer to pass it.  Believe the democrats hold the majority so that is also in favor of passing.  I'm sure there's things they want downstate that would never pass without support at some level from western NY

I actually thought the state did well seeing Pegula is throwing in 500 mil and will pay for any extras, and the State will now own the stadium.

And on a 30 year lease.  The current lease cost the Bills 800k per year.  I would expect that number to be higher on this lease.

I saw this today on bills daily, State Assembly is expected to stay today and *potentially* leave Albany tomorrow. No one expects a budget deal., this wasn't specific to the bills, but saw the NY papers and Albany paper bashing the crap out of us.

Spooked me today also.. share your apprehension.. but hopefully it gets done

NYS funded both the Mets and Yankees new stadiums. Those downstate fools are just being hypocritical and stupid.

And to put it even more into perspective.  Here is all the NY funding for all of the NYC stadiums.

Haha and the Seneca response wasn't so pretty.

"New York’s hostile and shameless greed was laid bare for the world to see yesterday. After intentionally and unnecessarily holding the Seneca people and thousands of Western New Yorkers and families hostage for several days by strangling various bank accounts held by the Seneca Nation and our businesses, Governor Hochul couldn’t contain her excitement to boast about using her Seneca ransom money for a new stadium."

Ouch.

Maybe it a mute point, but I hear the casino is packed when the bills have a home game.  I don't live in WNY any more, but that's what I've been told.  So I would hope the Stadium is a win for everyone.
