Belichick isn’t great at anything without Tom Brady.

On one hand you can say this about every HC without a franchise QB at their disposal.

But the reality is even without Brady Belichik has shown he's one of the top defensive minds ever to coach in this league especially when you go all the way back to the infamous wide right SB when he was the Giants DC, and during Brady's early years when they won 3 SB's behind the defense and ST asking Brady to essentially be a game manager in most cases.

Oh did I mention

The Patriots will face a significant test in 2022. They have the ninth-toughest strength of schedule in 2022, according to Sharp Football analytics.

got that 2nd place schedule - non common from buffalo they got arizona, vegas, indy - buffalo got Tennessee, KC, Rams.

How many HOF players were on that defense?  Parcells took that style of defense with him everywhere even without Belicheck.   He found his style of guys to play his style of football.  I would argue the main guys in New England were drafted by Parcells the first time around.  Overall, Belicheck is was a very good coach.  He is considered the GOAT because of Brady.  He spent too much money last year and is handcuff at improving the roster this year.

I can see why Kraft is concerned. That all time defensive genius also happens to own the worst defensive performance in NFL history in his playoff loss to the Bills. That defensive genius watched his defense give up EVERY potential available yard in the game to the Bills offense (victory formation kneel downs excepted). Every. Available. Yard.

We’ve seen really bad defensive performances over the years, but that one will never be topped. Ever.

Patriots 100% aren't making the playoffs this year.  I'd say they are the 10th best team...in the AFC.  So then what?  Does Belichick get fired?  Hate to see it 🙂

It is not the coach's fault if the GM provides subpar plays and the Director of Spying / Bribes is not doing his job,

Bllicheat did not have get one letter from NFL on rules violation, stretching the meaning of rule or improper equipment including balls and videos.

Clearly he cannot win without them.

His style of leadership is slowly fading his luster.  What is he doing at OC?  What is he doing at DC?  What is their identity on offense?  What is their identity on defense?  Power running team?  Dont bring back your Full back?  Will not use a fullback going forward?  Press aggressive man and manufacture a rush?  Let both of your top 2 cbs walk without an answer.  Seems like too much masterminding and not enough roster building and scheming around your players.

He is eliminating titles so he can deny requests for coaches to go to other teams since they do not have title "Coordinator".

Yet you'll still have a bunch of people telling you otherwise because of one gameplan from 32 years ago.

Agreed!

Brady had coached up Malcolm Butler to be in just the right spot to win that Seattle/NE Super Bowl when they ran the play!

Brady put together a defense in the early 2000's full of great players, borderline HOFers in NE. He shut down that Rams high flying offense most of the game too.

I hate defending Belichick, because it makes me want to gag, but this "it was all Brady..." crap is nauseating.

BTW, he also shut down Brady too. The Bucs went into NE this past season clearly the better team and it took a missed NE FG for them to win.

He does not need Teflon T*m to cheat and I am sure he is looking thru rule book to find ways to step over the line and then say "I do not interpret the rule as written that way."

So is a former defensive co ordinator Patricia calling plays?  Former special teams coach Judge calling plays?  Or is Bill adding that to the list of things he is doing mediocre?

Belichick is celebrated as the greatest coach ever by many. He is showing he is an average coach who benefited from a great QB.
