Hope this has nothing to do with Bates (leaving).

Even with Bates coming back we would have needed to add 2 additional interior lineman. Don't think it has anything to do with him.

Still need a swing tackle too unless they really think Doyle is ready.

Bills now have 4.6M in space (Mancz, Lawson, Lee, Phillips not accounted for, however ONCE they are accounted for another 3.35M will get pushed OFF the cap (McCloud, Love, Gentry, Hamlin) - Keenum is and his new Contract of 3.5M (Pushing off Capra and his 705K)

Still likely needed

RB - Based off the McKissic stuff

WR3/4 - Depends on how you feel with McKenzie or Stevenson (Hodgins Gentry) in the slot. - I think they will add a vet before the Draft though

Swing OT - I doubt they feel comfortable with Doyle in that role right now

CB (need one, maybe 2.  Right now it is Dane Jackson and Cam Lewis starting outside) - Tre likely gone for 6 weeks to start doubt plan is the unknown of what rookie falls to you in the draft.

Big Tickets left to open the most cap space

Diggs - Extension

Poyer - Extension

Tre White - Restructure

Dion Dawkins - Restructure

Edmunds - Trade or Extension

Current player breakout is

30 on the Defense

26 on Offense (including Mancz)

3 on Teams.

Look for the remaining signings (Moves) going into the draft to be on the offensive side.

Injuries have been often with this guy. Weird signing.

I am not worried about Injuries anymore with the Bills facilities and player management and sport science department they have been one of the lowest Injured teams since McD has been here.

My gut says Bills trade down a few spots and get extras picks. Those get swapped for BPA after they draft a DB.

They do need backups.  And unlikely OBD loses Bates as we have right to match any offer.  It likely comes down to whether Dorsey and Kromer want Bates in new scheme more than anything else.

Saffold has primarily played LEFT guard and Bates looked good there last year.  Will he have to compete with Cody Ford for the RG spot? If Bills add another guard will Bates return to his suler-sub role?

Not necessarily.  There are 31 spots to fill and maybe they will focus on offesnse in the draft

The metal lunch pail he brings everyday is an off green and his hard hat is nicked, yes? Then we are all good here. 👍🏻 🤗

He played with Miami last year so this may be his lunch pail...

He started 6 games for Miami.  He is just a backup though.  He'll stick with the Bills if the Bills lose Bates.  He might also stick if Buffalo decides Bates is going to start at guard.  Maybe with a top notch offensive line coach, his play can be elevated somewhat, but I would hat to have to depend on that for any length of time.

IMHO most likely Bates competes fopr RG starting spot with Ford (if still here), this signee and a C/G mid-round draftee.  Bills have spoke with a half dozen or more  IOLs at Combine / Sr Bowl etc.

This is 100% what Beane does every off-season. Sign backup veteran lineman and see if someone will stick while having depth for camps.

signed Jamil Douglas, Bobby Hart last year in the same fashion

Pretty much, if he looks good in summer great if not he's released without hurting the cap situation.

We have the right to match but Beane doubtless has figure he won't go beyond. We could easily lose him if there is an offer.

I'm hoping we don't, but the fact that most of us don't want to lose him could easily mean other teams might want him enough to give him a tough offer to match.
