How much did you pay for gas and groceries today?

I am not confused. Read my examples. It is in fact cheaper to eat unhealthy. Read my examples. Your only example is fast food, which really IS NOT cheaper for a family of 4. Like I eluded to, this is one part of my job; Educate on proper nutrition, community resources, and other techniques to live a healthier life. We are at an impasse- Go Bills 😊

I'm ONLY talking about fast food vs cooking at home.  My example of fast food not being cheaper than cooking at home is an example of eating healthier is NOT cheaper.  Unless you think fast food is healthy.  I think it's safe to say that FF is consumed more by lower income people because they for some reason think it's cheaper when in reality it's a LOT more expensive that shopping at the store and cooking at home. Even if you shop the outer aisles.  People will pay for the convenience and their health is what suffers the most with their wallet a close second.

The cheaper food is often not of lower quality.   I avoid the "organic" ***** like the plague.  It's a ripoff

Certainly your prerogative, I choose certified organic leafy greens and apples when available.

But if that is One of my few splurges, buying marginally more expensive produce that has some probability of being less carcinogenic and seems to be greener fresher and tastier…  I guess I’ll just be the fool.

But see, I think living in California is a rip off based on taxes affordability and housing prices… choices

Thanks for the advice about my gut but I don't need any advice........

I wasn’t giving advice. You can do whatever you want.  Enjoy your gut destroying crap food.

Glyphosate is water-soluble.  Just wash your produce well and your gut will be fine.

Wrong.  There is a reason it’s illegal in the EU. It’s not cause they are socialist commies

I have a client who moved here from Chicago.  He calls it your last sentence a "weather tax".  It's only a rip off if you can't afford it.  ;)

Wow thanks dude.  I appreciate your holier than thou approach.  Again my gut is just fine.  I take care of it in other ways.

Gut destroying crap food.  Hyperbole much?

Exactly my point about better food

Maybe Minneapolis or Buffalo are the only places I can think of with weather worse than Chicago… so I can understand that frame of reference thinking the California desert is somehow nice….

if you like the variety of seasons there are lots of places with great weather and incredibly better value, infrastructure ecosystem etc.

The California desert so far is my favorite place to live so to me it’s a bit more than “somehow” nice.

Where did you live in California?

Spent enough time there in various places to know it’s not for me.

Sourdough bread and Paso Robles wine are about it. You can have the rest.

Great!  We have too many people already.

And Paso wine??  Try heading north if you want some of the world’s best wines. 😁

again… since we’re on rip offs….

Paso putting out reds that rival Napa without ‘because the label says a word’ mark up. Good stuff, great value.

Paso cabs rival Napa??  Stick with beer.

Was put on to this by a major International wine buyer.  I may not know what I’m talking about, they do.

but to recap… 50 extra cents for organic lettuce a rip off… 120% more for 4 letter word printed on fermented grape juice bottle, $600 per sqft earthquake and utility restrictions and sky high state taxes er um weather tax…

No doubt you will find a few Paso reds that “rival” Napa’s but not consistently.   Yes they are very expensive and I rarely went there because the valley is very crowded and hard to get to.  When we lived in the Bay Area we visited Sonoma almost exclusively. Not because the wine was better (it’s not) but the valley is larger so much less crowded.  And a hell of a lot easier to get in and out of.  But for cabs Napa is by far the best. They rival the great reds of Bordeaux.

And we love every ***** bit of California. Yes it’s expensive but good things typically are.  Not sure where you live but check back in 4 months regarding our “weather tax”.  I’ll be by the pool. 😁

Enjoy…. I’ve never understood the infatuation with baking in the sun next to a concrete hole filled with Luke warm water… I’ll be in my hot tub watching the big screen enjoying the crisp winter air hoping for a flurry or two. Cheers

Just imagine if they put food and energy into the inflation formula.

the prices at the grocery  stores are insane.  like they are going up daily..

Looking at Natural Gas and electricity still climbing doesn't point to it slowing soon

It’s only transitory dammit! As George Costanza would say….It’s not a lie if you believe it to be true.
