I've never seen a more risk averse QB than Cousins. He makes Trent Edwards look like Indiana Jones. Teams would rather choose to be mediocre rather than choose to try and be really good even if they have to be bad first. Vikings have a dynamic offense, but the team couldn't close out so many games last season. They are banking on the new coach to fix that. Not a horrible risk.
