Blame everything on the current administration and try your best to prevent any attempts at solving the problems. If none of these big issues gets resolved, they look ineffective and will be damaged for the next election - that has become the playbook for both parties. That works great for the politicians. You know who it is not working so well for? Most Americans! On the other hand, I expect if things were going extremely well, they'd take credit for everything. As they say, "Success has many parents but failure is an orphan". In principle I share this sentiment but the problem for Democrats in charge right now is they threw the first punch in this spat. They concocted the Russian collusion hoax which they carried on with for a full 4 years to inhibit and disrupt the functioning of the previous administration. With many continuing through with this belief today. They impeached the President in the House twice. One of them because of a phone call and the allegations of offering aid in exchange for political information. Even though Zelensky denied it. I guess we didn't believe him then but now given a change in circumstances his status has been elevated from liar to epic leader. They convened the 1/6 Committee. They're still chasing all kinds of ghosts and spirits while trying to connect the former President to a number of "crimes" for what many see is motivated by unabashed revenge. It would seem to be a bit hypocritical for them to now suggest we all pull together. And for how long? Until after the mid-term elections? And can they be trusted? Asking of others what they would not consider in 2016. "The resistance" instead. Biden campaigned on the unity theme but has failed to deliver on that promise which seems to have been abandoned right after the inauguration. I said a few times on a couple topics here that Biden winning the election did Trump a big favor. The 2020 election was like winning the chance to replace the Captain of the Titanic after the ship hit the iceberg. You're in charge and everybody looking for a seat on a lifeboat isn't going to listen to you telling them the last guy in charge is to blame as the water starts rising around the ankles. Part of the problem there is that one can always look back and find a prior event by the other party that REALLY started it, in their opinion anyway. We will disagree on whether Trump’s impeachments were warranted. I feel it doubtless that an honest trial and jury would have found him guilty of the charges. I was hoping to avoid the finger pointing and to make the point however that both parties engage in this mindless obstructionism. This hurts all of us as sometimes we need things accomplished i am older and I seem to recall political finger pointing and obstruction always happening to an extent, but not to the point of ‘party over country’, where we are today. Do you personally want Americans to suffer so that the Dems look bad? If so, you may be part of the problem. The line was long to get in because people were jammed at one end, so I dropped the wife off to shop and went to the other end and got in easily. While I was waiting in line, the attendant started changing the price from $3.85/gal to $3.95/gal. Luckily I got in at the lower price. T master Posted March 6, 2022 Share Posted March 6, 2022 Career politicians such as the one that is now sitting in the white house don't care at all about the people that they are in charge of looking after that is the biggest reason why there was so much hate for the previous president because he didn't give a rats a** about those politicians and their agenda's . He tried & to a large part succeeded to run the US like a business instead of a side show of politics . Sure there were times he needed to shut his pie hole but there were a lot of times when he did open his mouth he was speaking the truth like when the entire Russia BS started floating around & how Obama could have stopped it & didn't . Career politicians are so corrupt in most everything they do the bad things is there are those that wouldn't know it if they walked up & B**CH slapped them in from of a mirror !! That’s the real question IMO. For me, I think it’s less about Americans suffering so the Dems look bad, more a belief that Americans are hurting because the Dems are in charge. In that regard, it’s not party over country, it’s about which party gives the country the best choice for success. As for Trump and impeachment, your perspective is interesting. It seems clear to me that the marketing plan of the dem party during the Trump admin was to scuttle his entire presidency with a scorched earth policy with accusations on treason, corruption, racism, sexism, and anything in between. Of course I lobbied to investigate Trump’s Russian ties. I also pushed to allow Mueller to complete his investigation and accepted his conclusions that there was insufficient evidence to prove conspiracy. i surely wanted Trump to succeed in the development of treatments and vaccines, infrastructure, ending Mideast wars, opiate battle, improving our economy, etc. And, yes, I have been against this back and forth obstructionism for years. Over time it has resulted in voters cheering for the tears of their political opponents and voting for whichever fast talking candidate can elicit those quickest and most cleverly. It is fun to have insult comics on your debate team. As I mentioned above, this is great for the insult politician and sometimes entertaining but this need to get even is guaranteed to result in legislative dysfunction and is causing pain to the underserved Americans today and will continue to do so until.....until when?
