People will jump to dismiss this as irrelevant and overblown because many who believe in racial equality have good intentions, and blatant racism against whites displayed on font pages of newspapers somehow discredits “real racism” therefore it cannot actually be racism. It’s not “on the front page” of the physical newspaper, it’s in a column labeled “trending now” on the online version. Is it intentional by the News editors to draw readers? Probably. The letter already has 70+ comments, and it’s a schittshow as one might expect. Like it or not, racism (in the NFL and elsewhere) is still a very real issue. It’s very sad that some people are still so threatened by anyone suggesting that the white-privileged world we live in might not be perfect. Person gets offended by an obviously racist letter and all of a sudden it flips back to white privilege. It's an online letter to the editor from a random schmuck desperate for attention.
