But we didn’t.

What NFL team, sans the team with the Best QB and HC of all time was a consistent contender for 10+ years? Why do y’all care so much about being a decent team in 2025? Like honestly who cares? If the Rams have a down year 3 years from now, it won’t take away their Super Bowl. The Eagles crumbled after winning theirs, but they were still the champs in 2017. The goal is to win? Not be fringe contenders forever.

Because going "all in" does not guarantee that you win the whole thing, that's why. And if you don't, you don't have the trophy and you don't have the team for the next try.

You act like the Rams were destined to win it no matter what. If it was that easy, all teams would replicate them. But guess what, only one team can win.

It's game of inches. One play (today, in NFCCG or against Tampa) goes other way and now we would be talking how everything what Rams did was for nothing.

The reason the Bengals lost is because their offensive line made it clear who they actually were — a truly terrible line that couldn’t handle any decent D-line. They were utterly overwhelmed in the second half.

And yet you could also picture Josh or Mahomes making something out of nothing for at least some of those plays - Josh spent some entire games with protection as bad or worse.  No one will talk about it but Burrow showed nothing to be able to escape or get rid of the ball when things broke down.

Cincy has about 55 million in cap space so they will only get stronger and their GM has already done a good job with that defence in free agency.  Beane needs to follow some but not all of the Rams footprint to a title. Make a couple of splash win now moves to get a big time defensive play maker or two

I think on offence we saw tonight what speed at the RB position looks like in Mixon, even with a terrible line he made some nice runs. I think a speed RB along with another speed WR who has good YAC ability and our offence will get to another level.  Maybe add another guard and then focus on getting play makers on defense

After watching Bengals LB'S  tonight I would trade Edmunds over paying him big money which he does not deserve.

They got a lot of cap space for next year but remember their owner is cheap so I would be highly surprised if the Bengals are big spenders this offseason.

I care because I want this team to be a dynasty, and with Allen being 25 years old that is a real possibility. I advocated for signing OBJ mid-season. I would trade a 1st for Danielle Hunter if we could. I just don't want us to sacrifice the team 2-3 years from now to go championship or bust right now. All those resources the Rams gave up didn't make them a dominant team. They weren't the favorite to win it all heading into the postseason. All of that sacrificing the future to win the Super Bowl by the skin of their teeth. That isn't an argument for that team building strategy. If the Bengals had won does that mean o-line talent doesn't matter? No, it would just mean that a team with a bad o-line won the Super Bowl. So a team that mortgaged their future won the Super Bowl. There are other ways to win a championship and still be in position to win another one for the next 5 years after that. That's what I want the Bills to do.

lol all those resources didn’t win the Rams the Super Bowl? You’re spinning like a top bro.

no team blows out every team en route to a Super Bowl. The thing about the playoffs is mostly good teams make it. There’s a ton of luck involved, of course, but talent matters. Most teams get to the Super Bowl and win it by the skin of their teeth.

Let’s win one Super Bowl before we plan for the decade long dynasty. You’re putting the cart infinitely behind the horse. I don’t want to be the Steelers from 2011 to 2020, good enough to be in the playoffs but never good enough to win. No ***** thank you.

You’re right though. If the Rams didn’t win the Super Bowl, we wouldn’t be talking about how they won the Super Bowl. but they did and we are. Because that’s the reality.

Burrow is not elite. I was not impressed by anything he did tonight.

Not a single throw was elite by him. The touchdown to Boyd was underthrown and took the ref not throwing a flag to be a touchdown.

I don’t understand how this guy is being hyped the way he is. He is above average for sure. But he does not even deserve to carry Josh’s or Pat’s jocks

The throw to Chase down the right sideline was nice, but other than that, it was another unimpressive post-season performance by Burrow.

Their MVPs of the game were Donald and Kupp, not the players they mortgaged the future for. And again I'm okay with spending resources on existing talent. Just not making that literally the only method of team building for a few years. Dream teams almost never win it all in the NFL. This year, one finally did. I would bet any amount of money that the Bills will have a better chance of winning a Super Bowl for each of the next 10 years than the Rams will. And at no point in that 10 years will we suddenly have to blow everything up like the Saints are about to do.

Caesars Sportsbook just announced that the Chiefs at 13-2 and the Bills at 7-1 are the top two favorites to win Super Bowl LVII.

Von Miller had a huge game! They traded a boat load of picks for Stafford along with Goff, who they traded a boat load of picks to draft.

you are trying to live in a false reality. You can’t anymore. The Rams won a Super Bowl because of their strategy, not despite it. You were wrong and you continue to be wrong despite ALL of the evidence and reality denying it. It’s time to admit it

Pretty lousy football game.

We found out what happens when two teams that are afraid to win the Super Bowl meet in a Super Bowl.   Kinda' reminded me of the Steelers vs. Seahawks matchup.

Glad the Bengals lost.......SB losing teams that have never won a SB prior really tend to not get back..........and the refs pulling their prior unused flags out just as the Rams were trying to suh-natch defeat from the jaws of victory was both distasteful and fitting, I guess.

I'm not blaming officiating by any means.........the lesson is don't play yourself into close games where a bad bounce or flag can sink you.

Bengals had the Rams on the ropes immediately after halftime and didn't step on their throat while the Rams were reeling.

Hyperbole much?

Beane is not doing nothing. He is building the team in another way than the Rams.

I wonder what is your opinion on 13 seconds. I guess you knew we were going to lose before that happened because we didn't trade for Von Miller so we obviously couldn't win the SB.

I wonder how is even possible that all 8-12 contenders just don't trade for some difference maker at deadline. They would all win SBs so they didn't have to care what happens in the future.

Yeah I thought we needed a really good pass rusher. I thought our team really lacked in that department. We didn’t get one. Pat Mahomes threw all over us and put us in a position where we could lose the game with 13 seconds left, and we did.

Maybe we win if Von Miller is rushing the passer that game. Maybe it doesn’t come down to 13 seconds. Maybe we get a sack in OT and get the ball back. And of course maybe we don’t. Maybe it wouldn’t have mattered. It’s impossible to say.

What I CAN say is that I don’t give a ***** about our third round pick next year. Because I believe we could have won a Super Bowl this year.

Joe Burrow isn't going to last long if he keeps having to eat sacks at this rate.  Bengals should be ***** ashamed of the "protection" he got.  Especially because he was obviously hurt during the game and played through whatever happened.  Football players don't make that face for every little scrape and bruise.
