We now can understand his losing. He has the knowledge to be a great coordinator, but he's probably exhausted and has a certain something taking up a LOT of his time. Top coaches do put a ridiculous amount of time into the game. At that level it's a way of life, and is even more impressive to see some teams like NE, Pitt, Ravens play year after year at such a high level.
