I’m only going to be able to see the 1st half of the game tomorrow  😣. I have a work obligation. I’m so sad. Why couldn’t it have been last week so I missed THAT game?

The remarkable thing here: YOLO WORKS ? 🤩 . . . does his boss know how much of his time is dedicated to keeping us informed of the latest breaking news?

I don’t think there’s much we could’ve done this particular season…maybe drafting another OL instead of basham. I’m sure he knows more than us about the integrity of the oline lol a lot of guys horribly regressed from just last season…some of it could be Dawkins recovering from Covid

That could’ve made a big difference.

Creed over Basham.

Trey Smith over Doyle/Wildgoose/Hamlin/Stevenson.

both are playing great as rookies. We’re clamoring over Spencer Browns play, which has been average at best.  Those guys are playing much better than he is.  Instead, the guys we drafted are inactive every week.

The “Beane knows more than us” take is childish.   Yes……he knows much more than us. He’s a much better GM than us.  All true.  That doesn’t mean that he didn’t **** up royally by:

-bringing back basically the same OL that couldn’t open a hole in the run game all season.

-Paying Feliciano and Williams (I advocated for signing williams.  I was wrong too.  He’s had a terrible season).

-ignoring the IOL the entire draft. I have no problem drafting only tackles as long as at least one of them project well inside
- adding 1 RB.  A rb that isn’t better than the any of the dime a dozenRBs we already have have. Yes, he has speed.  Last I checked, speed doesn’t help while in street clothes.

That being said, it’s still only mid season.  Plenty of time to turn things around along the OL and with our run game.  Our offense has regressed as a whole and we don’t seem to have any answers for it.  I pray we can get it back on track.  That would’ve been easier if we had had a better offseason and addressed the OL in a different manner imo.

Totally agree with this.  I do think Covid crippled Dawkins.  Mongo came to camp 20 lbs lighter...surprising the coaches.  As to Ike, it may be a matter of playing next to a weakened Dawkins.

I've made the comment here before and other posters didn't seem to think that was the case, that the coaching staff wanted him to lose the weight, that it wasn't a surprise.  Glad to hear someone else state that, maybe I'm not imagining things!

There’s no guarantee those draft picks develop the same on our team either though. I mean we’re acting like the guy missed something obvious in the offense when it’s a little more nuanced than that…our defensive line was quite bad last year as well. Not to mention we were pretty snakebit with injuries against the jags in that area…we could easily go back to number 1 scoring offense we’re gonna have to wait and see

I'm pretty sure that Feliciano said in an interview that the Bills had not asked him to lose the weight, that it was his idea.

Whatever the reason Dion is half the man he was. If it’s COVID I sure hope he can regain his strength, at least by next year. Right now I see a scrub where before there was a franchise left tackle or at least a very reliable starter for the next 10 years.

No, there’s no guarantee anything man.  We’re talking what I would have done.  I was asked what I would’ve done and that’s what I would’ve done.

he missed something obvious.  Many analysts talked about it at length LAST season.  They talked about it this offseason.  In training camp.  And now mid season.  Our lack of a running game WAS OBVIOUS.  Sure, it may be a little more nuanced than that.  It might not be.  OL can’t run block and open holes, the running game fails.  Hell, they can’t even pass block this in recent weeks.

If you think Beane did a good job with improving the OL and the run game, you need to reevaluate.  He left it all up to the Daboll and johnson.  They have their work cut out for them.

So every draft with almost every position, one can play "Armchair GM" and find a player who is performing better than the one we drafted.

I've pointed out that Creed Humphries has apparently never played guard and asked what the evidence is that he would be a good guard in the NFL.  It amounts to, he says he can play guard.  But there's at least reasonable question as to whether Humphries would have solved our problem of G play.

Also, while he and Trey Smith are bright spots on the KC OL, it has to be noted that overall, the KC offense is racking up a mighty 0.2 ypa more than our offense is, and they have 3 fewer rush attempts per game than we do, and their offense as a whole is gaining 3 ypg more than ours and 4 fewer ppg than ours, for what may be some of the same reasons.

I wanted to see the Bills draft an IOLman myself, and I cussed about Basham over Humphries, but based upon data, just possibly, pump the brakes on pointing to KC's OL as a potential game-changing Big Difference this year.

I mean, how do you even draw that conclusion, when you're comparing a C and a G to a T and the results of the team overall are not better, but worse?

Yes, Beane miscalculated by failing to predict that the play of Dawkins and Williams would regress markedly, failing to predict that Feliciano would decide on his own to lose 30 lbs and become addicted to conspiracy podcasts vs improving after a full off-season of training , and mis-evaluating Cody Ford as capable of improvement with a full off-season of training.   As for the latter, it's looking like he whiffed on that draft pick.  It happens.  Move on, that's what the GM has to do.

Yeah. Except I talked about both players  before they were playing well. Several times. So that doesn’t really apply.

im at the bar with the boys, I’ll read and reply to the rest later.

Jets pass rush is decent and against this OL, they will look like the 85 Bears.

Do we really believe the Bills are covering the 13 point spread?

Hard to believe you've been watching this team the last few years. Don't you know that the Jags game was something that just happens and not indicative of anything. This QB and these playmakers are elite. The defense is top 3 in football. Wake up.

I’d rather have Humphery and Smith over Basham and Wildgoose.  Not sure why we can’t say that they could potentially be game changing. Potential…..is this wrong?

PFF says so.  Brown had a monster game today.  He wasn’t so great in the other games.  Rewatch the games.  He had some good moments and also lots of bad moments.

I mean……no offense, but this is a bills message board……not sure why I can’t say I told you so when I told you so.

Bet the farm in Jets and the points.  If Buffalo can’t block Jacksonville- Jets D line will toy with them
