Cohesion is overrated on yhe offensive line?

LOL, yeah, OK.

This line has high cohesion. Are you satisfied with the run blocking or pass protection?  How much more cohesion will make Ford, Feliciano, and Morse not get run over on 3rd/4th and short?  How much more cohesion will it take for Mongo not to get abused by decent DTs?

This is why I dislike the Miller rumor. Those draft picks are upgrades to the interior line.

Well this is very interesting if anything because it shows Beane understands this defense as is just isn't good enough especially the 'new look' pash rush and current metrics which I still think are very misleading given the teams we've played thus far.

Hopefully he is also doing the same due diligence with the interior oline and gets some done.

Yeah if the OL was physically capable but just out of sync........that's one thing.   That's not the case.    They are just not physically up to task this season.   Dawkins is clearly still diminished after his bout with covid after foolishly waiting to get vaxed.   Feliciano is on skates after losing weight to try to get more athletic(apparently).   Morse is not physical enough to stop an immediate push.   And Williams is not the same player athletically.......he's been up and down like that for his whole career.   They really need a physical presence to help set the tone.

Must be an inside joke. Who's face did they photoshop over the ref?

I thought it was funny in the moment, that ref was thoroughly unamused by Josh.

I didn't even notice the photoshop... that guy is from a very famous porn meme.

That is a MAJOR issue with talent ID if true...

Beane has invested a ton of draft capital into the defense. OTC also has us with the 3rd most expensive LB corp. and Spotrac has us with the 2nd most expensive DL.

(I used both because OTC separates Edge Rushers, and we run a 4-3).

Oliver - 1st round

Epenesa - 2nd round

Groot - 1st round

Basham - 2nd round

Edmunds - 1st round

Philips -3rd round

As I've said before, this defenses success during this regimes tenure has been about the sum of the whole vs the individual parts. A lot of great role players/solid starts but no true superstar and why I still have doubts this team can truly get to/win a SB.

And I think there is a lot of pressure on Beane for one of these young DE's drafted the last few years to to truly standout an be a game changer type of player. Right now Groot looks like he could be that guy but it's still early. But overall Beane has not been very good in talent evaluation in terms of the trenches and that's a big problem, both in draft picks and especially FA signings (Butler/Addision/etc).

But yes, the fact Beane has went out and apparently tried to get guys like Watt and Miller is somewhat an indictment of his failure but at least he's trying to make amends for it and position this team adjust on the fly.
