Such difficult decisions The day they signed Tyrod Taylor I said he's be the the starter because I knew how bad EJ Manuel & Matt Cassell were. I sent an e-mail to a fellow Bills fan titled "We've found our starting QB" and the only thing I put in the text portion was a picture of a tie rod. My friend hadn't heard the news about the Taylor signing yet and responded that I must have done something wrong in my e-mail because all it was was a photo of a car part.

I feel ya....You, myself, and likely a large majority of Bills fans predicted Tyrod would start over EJ and Cassell. Rex knew it too and made his decision before any competition imo. Daboll has to ride Daniel Jones this year to see what he has, it's a win-win. If Jones takes a big step, awesome for Daboll. If he still sucks, the Giants end up with a top-10 draft pick in 2023 to address the QB position. 1

I never want to see the Bills have another QB competition again.. The pre season games are pretty meaningless to evaluate QB's anyway ... up against vanilla schemes and scrubs in the main.. Nathan looked competent in that situation but he turned to jelly pretty quick when the live ammo started to be fired in the regular season.. I’m looking forward to working with the coaches and Tua to get this team ready for game day.” that legit took me about 10 seconds to think of, and would have answered the question without making it sound like the pot being stirred. seriously wtf was he thinking?? Just doing what the Lab Rat Coach McDaniel has instructed him to do. When you play for Coach McDaniel…it’s not even chess…but 3D chess. Yeah, how about 20 years of Josh, like Rodgers, Brees, etc. and then a great pick of his eventual replacement in 2037?

Very true. Practice and preseason game success are not very good predictors of real game performance. We know this all too well. Stop and let that sink in, Nate Peterman actually beat out Josh Allen for the starting QB job in 2018. Of course, it only lasted for a half. But still, he did win the starting job after an entire pre-season of practice. .... Not sure I have a point, other than there are just some great mysteries of the universe that are explainable. .... Nate P over Josh Allen ?????

The Bills’ plan was never to start Josh from the get-go; Beane’s failure to bring in a veteran QB prior to the season was one of his few significant misdeeds as GM. Josh wasn’t ready; that was clear in his first game vs. the Chargers. If Beane had convinced Derek Anderson to sign before W1 we may not have seen Josh on the field until 2019. Didn't Anderson's broken down body last like 2 starts? I agree the plan was always for Josh to sit. I just don't think it was ever realistic. Greg S
Tua and Bridgewater aren't the answer. I wonder if Miami calls Cleveland about Mayfield. He is a definite upgrade over what they have.
