Was signed to the practice squad after the Bills cut fan favorite Jake Hollister.  Tons of unrealized upside.  Project for sure.

I'm interested to see him after all this time practicing and being coached. Dude is a specimen

He played a little in Houston 7 targets and 3 catches.  Not much to go on, but given he was picked 10 spots before Knox, might develop into a good TE.

It's time to say something.

Diggs' shorts are TOO short.

Nah, he’s just small down there, doesn’t need the additional square inches to house his junk that the other guys require, 😁

Go Bills!!!

The running game sucks. Try Matt Breida against his former team. He at least has breakaway potential.

For all their weaknesses, Dolphins run D is pretty solid. This isn’t the game to pound the rock. Just run enough to keep them honest. Doesn’t really matter who is back there doing it.

100%, their run defense has been one of the better ones ever since Raekwon Davis got healthy. This should be a game where we go really pass-heavy IMO.

Who?  Tua or Marcel having to cover the fins

Speaking of Marcel....he's on the Cover1 podcast talking about the upcoming Dolphins matchup

Lots of good stuff in there, starting about 9:15 in

Starts out talking about how last season, the Dolphins had the prototypical "bend don't break" defense: give up lots of yards, but get off the field on 3rd down, don't allow TDs in the red zone, and get takeaways.  This season they're next to last in scoring offense, 29th in RZ TDs, next to last in 3rd down conversion, and not getting that many takeaways.

He says QB is not the problem on the team, and in fact Tua is not the problem on the team.  "Deshaun Watson ain't fixin' this team, man, it's that defense and then this offensive line".

Says all the folks that he talks to every day (beat reporters in Mia, it's inferred) say the same thing.  Points out that Miami has put 4 top-90 picks on OL in the last 3 years and they're still dead last in pass rush win rate.  Allowing 8th or 9th highest sacks while seeing 12th fewest blitzes in the NFL.

Says 90% of the Deshaun Watson stuff they are hearing is coming from Houston, "they are as desperate as they've ever been to get rid of him", but "starting at the top, they've got a GM who will not back down on his trade demand".  Says Flores brushes it off "Tua's our QB" and then Tua goes out to talk to the media and gets grilled for 15 minutes about it, it's not a fair situation and he's starting to look tired.  Says there's stuff (LaCanfora) about how Flores has lost the locker room and the Patriots way only works in NE. "It's a 6 game losing streak and there aren't a lot of things to focus on but this big black cloud."

Says once the trade deadline passes there's going to be a wave of relief throughout "everybody down here - players, coaches, media"

Quinn asks him about the secondary - Miami is #1 in "explosive plays given up" on defenses.  Says he's talked to players who say they watch film and see it's not bad coverage, they're not "winning at the point of attack" with the pass breakups or deflections, but Marcel L-J says he thinks it's sometimes mental lapses and bad coverage, and sometimes tough coaching decisions (they played the sidelines and left the middle of the field to Shenault against the Jags).

Asked about DL, they have talent and are playing really well, but the secondary is so bad that the pass rush doesn't matter.  They are playing the run well (#4 in run-stop win rate).  Defense is pass rush + secondary and right now they just have pass rush; until the secondary starts "playing up to their paycheck" they'll have problems.

On offense, says Mina Kimes used to take heat from the fans when she'd criticize the OL but when he got there he saw everything she said is true, it's hard to overstate how bad their OL is.  Says Tua has played really well the last 2 games and is showing signs of mental toughness (my phrase) - said after an INT, the next drive he hasn't thrown an incompletion and has scored, so he can really get "locked in".  Playing with a skeloton crew on WR without Davante Parker and Will Fuller, it's all Jaylen Waddle and Mike Gesieki.

Says he's hoping to see Tua continue his level of play with good decisions and to be aggressive, take care of the football against a better defense.

There's more but it's an hour long and I've heard what I wanted to hear.

It would make my day if we could show we can run when we need or execute screen passes against a solid run defense.  And while I agree Miami's run D has looked solid the last several weeks, would you agree that neither the Jags nor Atlanta have a strong rushing attack?

Quoting him more precisely, Garafolo says "I know Sean McDermott and his staff are kind of nervous" because there's "really not a lot of upside" to these games

There is ALWAYS upside to beating a division opponent. Stupid comment by Mike G.

This.  Big Dogs beat the division.  Take care of Bizness.

Keeping focused for games like this is the very reason McDermott tries to have vet leadership in every room - to keep beating the drum with the message "keep pushing, prepare hard, don't take it for granted because we need every game to get to our goal."
