When a group is high level for a long period of time and a nickname is organically created it works. Purple People Eaters, Monters of the Midway, Air Coryell, Kgun all worked. There have been a lot of great offenses and defenses without a nickname and that is ok. I would argue its the offense that could use a nickname.
