9/19/21 Week 2 Bills @ Dolphins Gameday Pregame Thread

Haiku, Shmaiku! This is serious -with implications galore! We’ve owned these pretenders since Charles Clay dropped a GW TD, including our backups hanging fiddy on their playoff dreams a season ago. But, as we’re learning the hard way, Every season is different. McD acknowledged this ad nausea all camp, yet we were unprepared vs. a playoff team in the Opener. We let an excellent defensive effort slip away by handing the Stillers 3 T/Os resulting in 10 Points in a 7 point Home loss.. 🤦‍♂️

The Fish stole their Opener from NE* so they’re feeling pretty good about themselves. But they’ve been waiting for us for 9 full months. It’s their Home Opener and they have vengeance on their mind! Thankfully, we typically outnumber the soft southern Florida faithful Every time we play there -most of us know Bills fans who’ll be there, but the locals won’t need much on field success to turn blood in the water into blood on the Beach.

“They didn’t pay me for what I’ve done, they’re paying me for what I’m going to do!” -J. Allen

Josh, you’re being paid to find a win here today.

We remain heathy to date, which is a much better situation than many teams, and we’ll need a great effort by all 53 to get out of Miami with a .500 record!

Bills breakdown: Our DL is much improved and after 13 months, the ‘Starless Knight’ appears finally ready to return. Our LBs and Secondary are outstanding, as is our PK, WRs & QB. If we play with the deserved chip on our shoulders to erase the bad taste of last Sunday, this should end well.

Dolphins breakdown: whatever.. 🤷‍♂️ Screw them! 🖕

(Note to @e-ball, stay in the hotel!!)

Go Bills!

An oldie but a goodie.

RIP Tim Russert, one of the best Bills fans ever.  If you ever read Big Russ and Me, who else devotes a chapter titled, “the Buffalo Bills”.

My dad actually knew his dad from the 1st Ward.

For me, I want to see the line bounce back and give Josh a nice clean pocket today.

  • Chandler#81 changed the title to 9/19/21 Week 2 Bills @ Dolphins Gameday Pregame Thread

Just win the damn game. The only thing that matters is to win the games, win the Super Bowl.  I don’t care whether the Bills win by 1 point or 77 points; just win.  Sure, it would be nice for the Bills to win comfortably, but this would just be the cherry on top.

If by some chance Miami wins this game, I don’t want to hear about how good Josh Allen played or any records he or any other Bill set.  These things matter, if they matter at all, only if the Bills win the game.

I don’t expect the post game conversation (outside of TBD) to be about Josh Allen’s MVP run.  Instead, i expect the national media to talk about Tua; make excuses for him if necessary, praise him whenever possible.

Important game.  As was last week.

Winning the division guarantees a playoff spot, and that starts today.  Sweeping divisional foes makes winning the division easier.

One concern I have is the Steelers are said to know how to defend NE’s offense, which ours is a version of.  They stumped Josh at times.  Miami has been a thorn in NE”s side for years and did beat them last week.  I’d Miami good?  Or is NE that bad this year?

It never crossed my mind that the O line would be on trial in game 2.

They were terrible last week. It also appears that Beane and Mc based on the draft are surprised by poor performance. Feliciano minus 25lbs is no Jim Richter or Reggie Mac.

This just made a rule change pop into my head: if a team sweeps their division, no matter their final record, they win their division.

Not saying I want this. But could be interesting.
