I hate to do this but based upon where they are at...

Offense next round of cuts - Hodges, Devey, Hart, Webb, Fromm - brings them to 25 plus Wade

Defense next round of cuts - Bryant, Hester, Butler, Love, Lee, Dodson, Giles-Harris,  McCloud, Griffin - once again 25 - Harrison goes to the IR and Butler resigned

Ooof - as Ron Burgundy once said "this is hard"

Cause of the dead cap Butler is not a great person for the vested veteran re-sign game.  You have to pay him his guaranteed salary and then re-sign him with a new deal.  Doesn't make much sense.

Agree - I don't understand why so many associate not wanting to waste a spot on a single gunner who contributes nothing else to the team to saying that ST are not important.  These are the reasons to me why the team does not fall apart if Jones is not on it

- Bass kickoffs into endzone = less kickoff returns

- Bills punted least in the NFL last year - an average of 2.6 times/game - this could even be less this year with better offense

- Haack is excellent in punts downed inside the 20 (114 of 307 kicks in career - 37%!) = even less punt returns to cover

- Taiwan Jones does not make every tackle on STs - other players make coverage tackles too!

- Bills emphasize acquiring/drafting/developing/coaching players with ST ability - a well coached ST unit (stay in your lanes!) with many talented ST players should be able to cover (the handful of) kicks effectively regardless of whether Taiwan Jones is on the field

At the end of the day - the last few guys active on a game day roster play special teams.  If its kumerow vs jones - who is better at STs because neither is going to be on the field for offense.

Disagree. I can guarantee that we will receivers injured during games requiring our 5th, 6th and (maybe) 7th receiver to play.

Not sure I agree about Kumerow in your example - I get your point, but to me it's more about having a depth player at some other position avail depending on injuries, gameplan etc

RB's can also get injured. I think the better arguement for keeping Kumerow over Jones is his unique skillset. He can be a real quality red zone threat on offense with his height. Jones really brings nothing other than special teams.

You may be right.

I would expect Hart to be around as they continue to work the phones for a trade.

Unless there are more injuries at that position - I would not expect him to make the team.

I've never wanted a player to succeed as much I want Wildgoose too...there's just too much potential there

"THE GOOSE IS LOOSE!"

"HONK HONK HONK"

"THAT GOOSE IS WILD"

"HE MAY BE THE WILDGOOSE, BUT HE COOKED THAT GUY'S GOOSE ON THAT PLAY!"

I vote for HONK HONK HONK. I just think it would be hysterical to witness an announcer or crowd "honking"

The Bills have and continue to do exactly that. Siran Neal, Andre Smith, Tyler Matakevich would all be on this roster for their abilities as depth players even aside from their special teams ability. There are no better non special teamers that have been cut to keep those guys. Damar Hamlin has looked pretty good at safety in addition to flashing on special teams. Jaquan Johnson is their most experienced vet depth at safety aside from being a special teamer. The only Bills special teamer that isn't really going to contribute on offense or defense in more than an emergency situation is Taiwan Jones. And if you are saying that you can't find one spot in addition to your three specialists for an elite (or very close to it) level special teamer then I would say you have your roster building priorities wrong.

But he is a lot better at that than the other options. It's like saying Tyler Bass offers nothing other than special teams.

Fair point. I'll admit I'm not qualified to assess the impacts either makes on coverage units, I was simply suggesting the argument for Kumarow is easier made by his usefulness on offense. As opposed to the poster suggesting we'd have numerous injuries at WR.

I suspect both will stay. But Jones will be active before Kumerow. Kumerow did do an okay job as a gunner last year filling in for Siran Neal when he missed a couple of games. But he isn't at Jones's level and when you can have that on a team in win now mode without giving up a player who should be making the roster elsewhere, why wouldn't you?

What position Groups do you think the Bills are looking to add in from Cuts.

I think the following is areas they would be looking at.

Punter - I think Haack is replacable, watch what happened in LA if Bojo wins that I would want Bills all over Hekker

RT - I think the will be looking at some Rotational OT as well if one shakes free a nice Swing OT

CB - I think this is the area of the weakest depth on the team.
