One more.   Matt T gets traded for a 2nd before season starts and we re-sign Barkley!

Just read thru others and surprised that others had this as well.

I mentioned this but only under the premise that Fromm looks like a legit NFL QB this summer and we can also flip Trubisky for a 3rd rounder to a needy team. Getting a 2nd for him though would be a deal I'm not sure I pass up on even if Fromm doesn't do anything of note.

Pretty sure the only real interest Barkley is going to get at this point is to be an emergency/covid QB on another teams practice squad so we can likely get him back anytime if needed.

I'm thinking a 2nd if it's a team with a qb injury or something.  At his salary and a 1 year deal he's worth that.

No way McKittrick gets cut, all he does is make play after play after play.  My bold prediction is that CWade makes the roster, sending Williams to the PS.

Agree with you on McK.....difficult to see Wade making the 53. Guess that's why it's "bold" prediction though lol

One additional prediction (not sure I'd call it bold) - I expect Jack Anderson to have an impressive camp and pre-season. Wouldn't at all stun me if in 3 or 4 weeks we are talking about him as one of those guys who it might not be easy to sneak onto a practice squad.

The Columnist is one to watch.  Dude is nasty.

Training camp starts tomorrow and we're a month away from the Bills 53-man roster being set. Post your bold predictions here.

I'll start with two of my own:

1) After the obvious quartet of Diggs, Sanders, Beasley, and Davis, the last 2 WRs to make the team will be Hodgins and Stevenson. McKenzie will be a surprise cut.

2) Cody Ford will be traded for a 4th or 5th round pick near the end of training camp. Forrest Lamp will take his spot on the roster.

I think you are spot on with these BTW.

I think your predictions are indeed bold. I sure hope you're wrong about Ford, we need a great LG and I think Ford offers the most potential there as we zone-block I think we'd prefer a big, tough hombre there. I hope he stays, starts and prospers and Ford is a thing that helps us take another step towards beating KC.

The other prediction however might portend to good news! We know McKenzie has talent and that the game is NOT too big for him. His problem comes when other WRs can't draw coverage away from him. He knows the offense and has learned a ton from Brian Daboll and our fine WRs coach. This makes him pretty valuable to us regardless of the shortcomings. If we were to have two young, unproven WRs good enough to knock McKenzie off the roster, that would indeed be very good news. They would have to be very talented to do so, imho. Daboll and the WR coach would have a lot of work cut out for them getting the young pups up to speed. But if they're both clearly better, it's worth it.

For my predictions I'll go with Antonio Williams making the team and also playing on some weeks. He also becomes our short yardage specialist. As a small bonus prediction, I say the Bills decide to put C. Wade on the standard practice squad vs. the special one so we can call him up if needed.

My second bold prediction is that we trade Moss (not Singletary). The reason is two-fold: Moss has more value and Singletary is the better back. I say we trade Moss for a fair third round choice (and that it will be higher than the third we used to pick Moss.) and a sixth as interest. So a third and a sixth. This will give Beane some ammo for the '22 draft if he really needs somebody (although I think he's learning to stay put or to usually

We almost let him walk in free agency. I think they're ready to live without him. Hodgins offers size and ball skills and has gotten some buzz this offseason. I predict Stevenson makes the team because Beane rarely cuts new draft picks and he can take on McKenzie's role. If Stevenson doesn't show anything in training camp then McKenzie is probably safe and they'll try and put Stevenson on the PS.

I was Surprised no one offered McKenzie enough to make him want to change cities. The guy had 8 or 9 NFL TDs for cripe's sake!

So I was happy we could retain a guy we spent a lot of time and effort into training how to do all these things. He had TDs three different ways! I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth and I'm going to happy we get him for another year. Things are going to go the way they always do. McKenzie will be the fifth, gradually losing snaps to Hodgins who will run totally different types of plays to give DCs nightmares. Stevenson is going to have a timely injury to land him on the IR where he is free of pouching. There, he will learn all the stuff McKenzie already knows (While McKenzie learns more!)

and Stevenson is going to train, train, train that body to learn not get injured. It is tons of hard work and discipline and if he can do both. Learn while getting a lot stronger yet more flexible (the Bills way, thank you Pegulas) he can compete for a real job next year. He makes himself WAY more valuable to us that way. He makes himself way more valuable to other teams as well.

trade down not up in a draft.)

So our RB room will look like Singletary - Antonio Williams - Breida. With Wade on the PS ready to call up.

Singletary - is your first down back ready to gain 5.1 yds./pop.

A.W.  - A Williams through and through. Bigger and better than Moss at being a Moss like back. He proves he can block in preseason.

Breida - we're going to actually use Breida and Daboll knows exactly how to use the kid for big plays and making a defense very nervous. Breida has a comeback year of sorts. All three backs are used, all three stay fresh and healthy. (Though there will be weeks one back is not active).

So, there you have it. Two and half predictions. All in the RB room.

Breida and Williams get more carries than Moss and Motor.

I would like to see Williams get more carries this season, especially if running game is still struggling. Just excited to see more of him

This is part of the reason I think he is a cut candidate. He is not a particularly valuable player in the NFL. There's a reason he came back to us for basically the vet minimum with no guarantee of making the roster. No other team offered him a better deal.

Any receiver with speed can run a jet sweep. If Stevenson's speed shows up on the field he can take McKenzie's role now. Last year McKenzie had no real competition for his role which is why I was sure he would make the team last year. I think to make the team this year he has to prove he is unquestionably the best kick returner on the team.

Morse gets dinged in camp and starts the year on IR.

Breida gets cut and re-signed after initial cuts

Hollister is TE1

One DL starter (Mario or Harrison or Jerry) from last year is not on the 53 (traded or cut)

I've been looking to see which vet will agree to be cut and then re-signed to clear a player or 2 to get to IR.

I have been thinking McKenzie but I think Breida could be targeted for that too.

Matt Breida… RB 1.

I think some of the more Xs and Os posters have pointed out that Brieda's running style is different from the style of our run-game offense.

If so (please somebody chime in here), does that mean Brieda proves himself to be clearly the best RB so that we switch running game style to fit his skills?

I could see Brieda ending the season with the most yardage, since he is fast on outside runs, and reportedly has good hands.  But if my recollection is right, RB 1 would require some changes.

We dont have a return guy.  I think Mckenzie is safe.  If Hodgins, the offical 2021 TC roster boble super star, makes the team is becauae the team moved on from Beasley.

There is a few that can, but I don't think it's set in stone for anyone yet like it was with Roberts. McKenzie will for sure be in that mix in determining who will be the main guy to be K/R and P/R.

I agree that McKenzie will make the team also, even if he's not going to be a K/R.

Dean Marlowe did that for Bills last year and was very vocal on radio supporting Bills.

Evidently that job is thankless one and if a vet does agree with being cut for this purpose I hope they ask for something to sweeten contract.

If McKenzie puts the ball on the ground in pre-season, he could be in trouble. Otherwise, I think he’s back.

I don't recall him fumbling last year? Or are you talking about few years back when he was K/R and didn't do too well?

Andre Roberts was the other one last year.  I can't remember the specifics but both were bumped some plus they got their dead money

when cut.

I remember saying to myself it was a good deal all around for the players and team.
