It's Time to Mandate Vaccines

That's idiotic. There are plenty of therapeutics that have scientific backing that people support. Hydrochloroquine got way out ahead on Twitter only to come back to earth when studies got done. Ivermectin has at least the same Twitter MD support at the moment.

But go ahead and get on with your conspiracy of control thing.

I hope Ivermectin turns out to be the miracle treatment we've all wanted. But I'll wait for some scientific consensus before lauding it as such, especially as a legion of Rogan-disciples (I like Joe, listen to his podcast BTW, but he's often batshit nuts) follow him down this road.

You should try out your line that "vaccines don't work for the most part beyond 6 months" next time you see him. Should prompt a stellar misinformation discussion.

Or, just tell the Nosey *****nutz to mind their business.

The kid is a good kid and a good friend to my son, so I keep my mouth generally shut around them.

I was careful to point out that it should be done in the nicest way one feels comfortable.  I have friends and family that would follow  the “go f yourself”  model.  I’m not generally in that category, but the point is the same.

Tough when kids are involved though, to be sure.

I am fully vaccinated.  Started feeling lousy last week.  Shrugged it off as a cold.  Nope.  Still felt lousy yesterday and got a test that came back positive. Sucks. I'm not dying or anything but do feel like crapola.

You want to talk Israeli policy or science? I've already loaded you up on the science and continue to do so.

And you still have never, not once, backed up your line that vaccines don't work past 6 months for most people.

Israel is making their policy based on the research that shows among the most vulnerable the efficacy wanes usually around 6 months. The US govt agrees which is why medicare is offering booster shots. If you want to argue another reason for the policy have at it. The lack of large studies is due to the fact that we are 6 months from most people getting their vaccines.

Thanks for sharing. I wish more people did. Can you tell us more about your particular circumstances, habits, location, general health, age, etc?

That's typical with breakthrough infections.  Glad you got the vaccine so you can recover in time for the Bills thrashing the Steelers.

Sure.  I’m white, age 57, married, two kids, financially stable, always have been in good physical shape.  Never spent a night in a hospital.  Never use any sick days from work although I do have a stressful jobs with 100+ employees.  Upstate NY location.   I had every COVID symptom but blew it off because I’m vaccinated.  Just thought I had a cold.  I was wrong.

Thanks again....but I was really looking for more information about your contact with others?  Office work in close indoor proximity?  Kids or family members with symptoms at home?  That sort of thing.  In other words....where do you think you might have contracted it?

Israel is now the world's Covid hotspot despite leading jab charge

Israel has become the Covid capital of the world despite leading the charge on vaccines, in a clear warning sign that Britain, the US and other highly-immunised nations are still vulnerable to another wave.

Stats compiled by Oxford University-backed research team Our World in Data shows there were a record 1,892 Covid cases per million people in Israel on Wednesday — nearly 0.2 per cent of the entire population in a single day.

For comparison, 522 people per million in the UK tested positive yesterday and the figure was closer to 595 in the US. It suggests protection gained from vaccines is starting to buckle in the face of the highly-transmissible Delta variant.

While Israel is seeing record case numbers in its fourth wave, the jabs are still protecting against severe illness with Covid deaths running at about half of the level of its second wave, even though fatalities have risen sharply in the last month.

Seems that should be the headline but whatever more fear porn......

Covid ‘mu’ mutation is in nearly EVERY US state already as WHO warns latest ‘variant of interest’ may evade vaccines

A Covid variant known as B.1.621 or “Mu” is a stealthy mutation of the disease that some scientists say is already spreading in the US may be vaccine-resistant.

“Since its first identification in Colombia in January 2021, there have been a few sporadic reports of cases of the Mu variant, and some larger outbreaks have been reported from other countries in South America and in Europe,” according to an Aug. 31 weekly epidemiological update released by World Health Organization (WHO).

I generally try to be more diplomatic in normal life than here, and I have been clear that the mask mandate on the kids is absurd, so on topics I find important I have a big mouth.

How’s Florida these days?

It is the problem with growing so fast, it is difficult to keep hospital building up with the number of people moving here. The three closest hospitals to me do not have ICUs yet because they have to get clearance. This would be so much better if my governor had simply killed all the old people last year, or we simply did have freedoms.

The most fear-mongering of fear-spreaders runs here with a story on mu.

Ever look at its prevelance vs delta?

Nah, you wouldn't have done that little bit of thinking.

Looking at Colombia's numbers?

Nah.

Just here to spread bad info, your MO.

I actually was in Alaska last week on a fishing trip with friends.  Have not been in my office in 19 months working from home. Home with teacher wife all summer. Grown kids off to college. I think I got it on the plane to Alaska.

You are a small and weird dude- you live in a state who still has a higher per Capita death rate but seem to be celebrating our struggles. Us allowing people in is causing us issues, just like Hawaii, but I am still able to protect myself and am not worried.
