DeSantis For President in 2024?

Stop kidding yourself - after Tuesday  it’s quite clear which party America rejected.

I’m not so sure…Last I checked, the Republicans were leading in the House, and getting a majority of the popular vote, nationwide…

Also, if my information is correct, it appears more Republican Senate seats were on the line, this midterm…so, to still be able to keep it around 50-50 or 51-49, could still be seen as a moral victory, even if not exactly what they wanted…

Ultimately, while it wasn’t the landslide many predicted, it does appear like the Republicans have made inroads…we will just have to wait and see when the dust settles…👍

FTA:

The Florida High School Athletic Association has introduced an online form that asks female students willing to participate in sports various questions about their menstrual cycles.

The questions include when they first had a period, what is their latest period, and how long their cycle usually lasts, The Palm Beach Post reported.

While the questions are optional, the measure has been deemed intrusive by medical professionals and parents who fear the reports could be used against female athletes in a post-Roe v Wade political scene.

It's all "manufactured fear porn" as B.S. is wont to say. . . . . . . . . . . . .but this is on his side.

"They might "

"What if"

"Could be used."

This is sick AF, to those who only read headlines.

Why are they doing this?  What's the reason? What do they hope to get out of it?

Teen age girls have been having periods since time immemorial.  Surely a study has already been done I would think.

To be fair, we haven’t had a President as short as Desanctimonious since Carter.

And before that, you would have to go back to before TV was a thing.

What are you, a short-a-phobic?  Why do you hate short people?

Randy Newman, is that you?

Trump is over 6 feet tall.  We need more of that?

Woke Fail: Disney Begins Layoffs, Hiring Freeze, and Limiting Employee Travel as Stock Crashes

As Breitbart News reported, Disney shares plummeted this week after the company reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings that fell short of expectations, putting the company’s future profitability into question. Disney revealed that it lost a stunning $1.5 billion on its streaming entertainment services as it seeks to build out Disney+ and Hulu in an effort to compete with Netflix and other competitors.

But at least those soon to be ad tiered subscriptions are up!

I can't ever recall when the abortion issue faded since 1973.  When has this ever happened?

Dems benefitted greatly from 3 things this election:

-Roe being overturned and R’s having no coherent messaging on it.

-Early Vote mobilization.  No one knew at the time, but the PA SEN race was over before they ever even had a debate.

-Dems getting real comfy lying to voters about bribes they can’t come through on.

R’s taking the pop vote by a good bit.  It wasn’t all messaging … D’s mobilized much better in targeted areas.

With abortion, what’s going to happen over the next two years? States will settle abortion law.  In states where it was settled, R’s cleaned up.  In states where it wasn’t, they struggled.

Even if strict abortion law states, the R who set those laws won in a landslide.  Kemp and DeWine.

What does that mean?  R’s on the national level need to say it belongs to the states.  No more ban talk.

States will settle law and some will be strict (heartbeat) and some will be whenever (Cali, NY)

As long as R’s aren’t dumb and have a coherent leave it to the states message, this issue should fade as it becomes settled law state by state.

You make some good points however the Democrats can still make plenty of hay out of abortion in 2024.  Its what they do. Back to my original question, when have Democrats ever NOT gone in big on abortion in the 6 months before an election since 1973?  I can't remember one.

But really, if the Republicans don't solve their Trump problem it won't make much difference anyway.

Oh, they will for sure.  But this was the abortion election.   They did about as well as they could with it.

As Roe fades, so too will the issue.. provided R’s have consistent national level messaging.

It will always be an issue.  Dems will promise to codify it nationally, but when people realize they have access - in some level - anyway, and R’s stop the whole ban talk, it’s only going to energize so much.

Holy *****!  I thought that was $1.5B for the year.  It was for the 4th quarter, after losing $1.1B the previous quarter.  So much for all those subscribers.

Also, hilarious - DeNazi taking credit for the huge GQP win in the Peoples Republik of Florida - after he gerrymandered the F out of Florida.

People's Republic of Florida.  That's a good one!  Probably the state that gives it's citizens the biggest amount of liberty in the union.  Just look at how they handled Covid as an example.  Whether the outcome is good or bad they did not push their control on their citizens as places like NY and here in CA did.
