Isaiah McKenzie Appreciation Clip

I'll tell you one thing

Blocking is not fun as a running back, let alone a wide receiver in the backfield

That takes serious heart

Watching that clip again, it appears to me that Allen glances left, says "yep, Lil Dirty's got this" then steps up and throws.

at first this surprised me, but he does catch a lot of quick hitters and I don’t recall him dropping many

Yeah, I think that's the key, he catches a lot of passes on those jet sweeps and reverses that are passes only because a dropped handoff would be a fumble

That said, he's become IMO a better route runner and general WR each year and I'm not sure he's plateaued

Well if Cole doesn't stop..... Mckenzie might a shot in the slot lol

I love me some I-mac, but consider that while McDermott's lips moved and said they had every believe that he could run all the routes Beasley runs, when it was "nut cutting time" as Coach Bohl would say, the Bills played Beasley.

IOW their behavior says they thought Beasley playing on a broken leg > Isaiah McKenzie in the slot.

He also caught about 8 or 10 jet sweeps

And that's basically a hand off so he's getting 100% of those

So he caught 30 of 34 passes.  If we say 10 of them were jet sweeps and subtract them from both sides, it's still 20 out of 24 which is 83%

No longer in the top-5, but still pretty dang good and I'm gonna guess similar caveats apply to the other 4 guys

Absolutely

McKenzie is a really underrated FOOTBALL PLAYER

He'll never be an All-Pro, probably never have a thousand yards receiving, or 10 TDs

But the dude is the true definition of a football player.. solid hands , return man , electric , team first

Every winning team has a guy like MacKenzie now but probably not even as good
