For starters, conservatives have engaged and started to turn the tide before the left has already locked in their gains. That seems like a simple concept, but it’s one rarely observed on the right. Typically, reactions come too late, allowing whatever is objectionable to be thoroughly ingrained in society before the pushback starts. That’s not how to win any cultural battle.

 

Regarding CRT, conservatives saw the seeds being planted very early on and started to wage war not just at the national level, but more importantly, at the state and local level. That has the left gnashing their teeth. They aren’t used to conservatives not being strategic morons. That’s why you are seeing them (and some in the failure caucus on the right) try to redefine the rules of the battle. They want you to “come up with a better curriculum” when terrible ideas that were not present before do not require replacements. Rather, they simply require forgoing implementation. CRT is not the default even if its proponents are trying to steal a victory by presuming it is.

 

Because conservatives have gotten the jump on the left, you are now seeing dismissive commentary that presumes the right is fighting a ghost.

 

Again, that’s a tell that conservatives are winning this fight. When the left take a key piece of their ideology and pretend it doesn’t exist or claim you “just don’t understand it,” that’s their way of trying to shame you into disengaging.

I agree with most of this. My point isn't that racism today is necassarily holding people back, but like you said, the environment matters and much of the social and cultural environment of black people has been shaped by racism. My dad--I'm white--had a great job when I was growing up, but if he would have been black he would not of been allowed to to the things he did growing up in the 30's, 40's 50's and sixties. I would have probably been living poor in a bad neighborhood then.

Even the lib wine moms, who were so ecstatic about the recent lack of mean tweeting – ironic that the only man able to give them pleasure was Donald Trump, and he does it by not doing anything – despise this Marxist pestilence. The guys in the campaign business I talk to are giddy and often burst into spontaneous jigs of pure glee at the poll numbers they are seeing. Hey Congress, congratulations! Thanks to CRT, there’s something America hates even more than you!

 

Normal America is fighting back – on social media, at school board meetings, in the states, and even in Congress. People are sick of this crap, and its purveyors are baffled. Secretary of Defense That Guy from Raytheon took a break from losing wars to testify before the Senate the other day only to lose there too. Former Army guy Tom Cotton read him some snippets of the works of Henry Rogers, who ridiculous people call “Ibram X. Kendi.” Ibby, as his friends probably call him, is one of the brightest lights of race hustling, which is the world’s lowest bar. The SecDef was forced to repudiate George Wallace Kendi’s position of “discrimination now, discrimination tomorrow, discrimination forever,” and then he tried to wiggle out of Cotton’s net by denying that he had even read Kendi’s slim – if not physically, then intellectually and morally – tome. Which was super-awkward because the war-losing, ship-colliding, zampolits of the brass have been ostentatiously putting this noxious trash on military reading lists. You might want to know what the hell you are teaching young officers, one would think, but then I would also think our military ought to be fixated on victory instead of declaring war on the weather and on trying to out-do the faculty lounge at Oberlin in the PC arms race. 

 

So, clearly not everyone hates CRT. Jerks like it, and there are several flavors of jerks. There are the go-along, get-along saps in the military, academia, Hollywood, and the corporations who push it because they know their masters want them to push it. The Democrats love it, or at least thought they did before people started learning about it and the polls plunged. Naturally, the gimp media is in 100 percent because CRT is the Official Narrative, and the media’s job is to pimp the official narrative.

Let’s unpack this notion a bit, not that it matters because they aren’t serious people. Stay with me here. Something has to be taught in schools. And that means someone has to decide what that is. And CRT shills contend that the right to decide what that is belongs to…uh, wait a sec. Unionized teachers and unelected bureaucrats, and not American citizens? Does that mean CRT does not hold the position that America is a bastion of white supremacy, that all white people are racist, and non-white people can’t be racist? Because if that’s not CRT, a bunch of people are teaching not-CRT and calling it “CRT.” Why don’t you pinkos get your story straight and get back to us on what CRT is – in the meantime, we’ll stick to teaching kids how to read and count and love their country.

When you consider that many may have children in similar situations, having followed the same curious mathematical formula to educational success that their parents chose with hopes of the same outcome, you end up with the latest version of intergenerational welfare moms.

And the second (very predictable) argument is that opponents of CRT are really just racists who want to prevent students from learning about slavery or Jim Crow.

 

The Washington Post published a piece last month which concluded, “Objections to CRT are an emotional defense against unwanted change, not an intellectual disagreement. Conservatives were never debating the facts.” In other words, there’s no point in talking to these racists because they don’t care about facts.

 

Yesterday John McWhorter wrote a compelling response to the media backlash against the backlash. His overall advice: Ignore the attacks and distractions and keep objecting to CRT. First he deals with the claim that what is being called CRT isn’t really CRT:

McWhorter wraps up with two points that summarize these ideas. First, he writes, you don’t have to read Kimberlé Crenshaw or accept the idea that if you’re not talking about what she was 30 years ago your complaints aren’t valid. Things have changed. That change has happened rapidly in the past 6 years or so and CRT works as a label until we have a better one.

 

Second, there’s a lot of middle ground between teaching students nothing about slavery and Jim Crow and embracing CRT and Ibram Kendi-style anti-racism. In fact, nearly all students are already taught about slavery and Jim Crow. That doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement, but CRT, which one supporter recently admitted was akin to “demonizing white people for being born,” is not an appropriate correction.

 

And that brings me to the final point about all of this which is that all the evidence that something is very wrong with what is being pushed into our schools is out there but, for the most part, the media refuses to engage. For instance, that line I quoted above from a private school headmaster about demonizing white people is on tape. There’s no doubt about him saying it.
