Bidenflation Stole Christmas: Retail Sales Much Lower Than Expected in November

Americans slowed their spending by more than expected in November, suggesting that the fastest inflation in decades and shortages have become a drag on the economy and that many Americans got their holiday shopping early this year.

Retail sales rose by a seasonally adjusted 0.3 percent in November from October, a significant slowdown from the 1.8 percent jump in the prior month, the Commerce Department said Wednesday. Economists had expected sales to grow by 0.8 percent.

The disappointing number follows three months in which spending exceeded expectations. Many economists mistook the stronger than expected sales earlier in the year as a signal that holiday sales would be particularly strong.

Instead, it was likely a sign that many households did much of their holiday shopping early this year, hoping to avoid prices pushed up by inflation and wary of shortages due to supply chain constraints.

Any of us who voted for Donald Trump knew this was going to happen if Biden were to attain the Presidency. Schumer, Sanders, Pelosi, AOC radical policies would be implemented. The results are already devastating and obvious. The worst is yet to come. I had to laugh as I glanced for a moment at a Buffalo News article yesterday- I would never buy that paper again and haven’t in over a year, but a copy was in the break room at work. The “ news article” blamed all these inflationary forces on things like Covid, global warming , and Donald Trump tariffs! What a joke! No wonder so many misinformed, foolish libs walking around these parts. They’re spoon fed propaganda at every turn from school through adulthood.

You put all that on top of the gov't taxing businesses through the roof & the greed of entitled Americans wanting to make more money for doing less work pushing businesses from the US to China and other countries which adds to the cause of a "Supply shortage" and here we are .

It use to be & the pandemic has proven it that if something like this happened the US could still stand on it's own 2 feet and make it through it but because of the thought of allowing so much of what we use to be produced elsewhere we are at the mercy of this global economy which is unfortunate .

We are no longer a independent country that can stand alone the US is dependent on China & they know it yet the leaders of this country don't want to or won't see it !!

I hate to depend on anyone (especially a politician) to look out for me or my best interests for just this reason because in the long run they truly don't care when you have the likes of those you mentioned in power but their supporters are to blind to see it because they are part of the entitlement problem ...

The Wall Street Journal reports: “Applications for unemployment benefits, a proxy for layoffs, have trended near five-decade lows in recent weeks. Jobless claims for the week ended Dec. 25 fell to a seasonally adjusted 198,000 applications from a revised 206,000 the prior week, the Labor Department said Thursday. That leaves them hovering just above the 188,000 level recorded earlier in December, the lowest level since 1969.”

The latest Rasmussen Reports survey previewed by Secrets said that Biden’s approval/disapproval rating by voters on the economy and national security have dropped below the worst recorded by former President’s Donald Trump and Barack Obama.

Today’s numbers:

Economy:

32% good to excellent,

66% fair to poor,  with 55% rating him poor.

National security:

34% good to excellent,

62% fair to poor. And 50% rated him poor.

That is worse than his rating immediately after the botched troop withdrawal from Afghanistan.

In a Rasmussen survey released last week, his numbers were even worse when voters were asked about his performance on crime and immigration.

Rasmussen’s analysis said that compared to Trump and Obama, Biden’s poor ratings are remarkably bad.

“Biden’s economic and national security ratings are worse than the lowest ratings of either of his two immediate predecessors. Former President Donald Trump’s lowest ratings, for his handling of both the economy (44% poor) and national security (47% poor), were in July 2017. Former President Barack Obama’s worst rating on the economy was 51% poor in August 2011 while Obama’s lowest rating on national security was 47% poor in January 2016,” said Rasmussen.

Just yesterday, CNBC also reported that its polling showed horrible approval/disapproval ratings for Biden, in office for less than a year.

Apparently Joe was broadcasting today from the fake oval office set across the street from the actual White House.  Why Biden can't use the real Oval Office in the real White House?  Does he really work there?  Or maybe the shadow administration actually running the Executive branch is using it?  I don't know.  But as of yet there's no sufficient explanation about any of this movie set Oval Office.   Seems like everything about this administration is fake from fake votes to fake White House w/fake snow showers today.  What a circus.  The laughing stock of the world.  Or as Irv says, what a mess..

An Absolutely Horrific Jobs Report Follows the Democrats' Day of Distractions

After a day of overwrought, largely misleading pronouncements about January 6th, the distractions have turned back into reality for Joe Biden and his maligned party. An absolutely horrific jobs report was released this morning following the Democrats’ “commemoration,” jarring Washington back into the real world of issues people actually care about.

While 422,000 jobs were projected to be created during one of the nation’s peak hiring seasons, the actual number came in at just 199,000. That’s another big miss after November’s paltry numbers and comes on the heels of news that jobless claims remain stubbornly high as well.

CNBC reports:

{snip}

As to the unemployment rate, which remains a relatively low 3.9 percent, that is largely a factor of a lag in the workforce participation rate. That metric has remained nearly flat since Biden took office (61.4 percent to 61.9 percent) and has not even recovered half the ground lost since the COVID-19 pandemic initially tanked the employment market.

So what’s this all mean? Well, it means exactly what it looks like it means. The jobs market continues to falter during a time where growth should be exploding given the decoupling of hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19 infection rates. That’s almost solely due to the ridiculous policies and fear-mongering coming from the Biden administration and its allies, both of which incentivize people to not work when they are otherwise healthy and capable of doing so.

While the January 6th handwringing lasted a day, these economic issues are going to linger until the 2022 election. Perhaps that gives us a window into why Democrats are so desperate to change the subject? Unfortunately, their “save democracy” pitch was always going to be a flash in the pan, and now the return of real problems means more bad news for Democrats.
