So people going back to work after the lockdowns is considered job CREATION.   I hate politicians.....in case I've not mentioned it often enough.

And isn't the holiday season when jobs (many temporary) ramp up?

Stories from the trenches.  One of the firms we deal with has had incredible challenges with hold wait times.  We had a meeting with them yesterday and brought that up.  They said they have 80 customer service jobs posted as available with few people taking them.

Odd… CNBC said Labor force participation is near pre pandemic levels and unemployment rate is 4.2% but I see the same labor scarcity. I guess everyone just took an Amazon driver job.

The worst spending bill ever: Democrats’ $1.9T ‘rescue’ is drowning us

by Brian Riedl

More than eight months after its enactment, the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan continues to reveal itself as the most damaging spending bill enacted in decades. ARP was initially promoted primarily as health-care legislation to finance COVID vaccines and treatments (even though just 1 percent of its cost went towards vaccines and only 5 percent had any direct relation to health care) and secondarily as a relief bill.

Instead, the legislation became a large grab bag of giveaways and economic “stimulus” provisions that even left-of-center economists such as Lawrence Summers, Jason Furman, and Mark Zandi warned was too expensive, too inflationary, too unnecessary, and too wasteful.

Couple things of note from that article.

FTA:

Quote

Not only is that incorrect, it points to Democrats' biggest problem: a conservative media machine pumping out economic disinformation on a 24/7 production schedule.

They are blaming Conservative media machine??  😂😂😂

What I didn’t see in the article is what exactly the Biden Administration had done specifically to create this other than “being there”.    When you are at the rock bottom heading up is easy.

Basically because it's BS with as many people as there is unemployed because of covid for god sake there should be a surge in employment there are were hiring signs every where so why not use the number from where employment was before covid hit ?

Every body meaning the media, libs and the rest used the numbers of people that were made to stay home because of covid as something that Trump did wrong when he was in office to go see he's bad for the economy to say he was the worst but now Joe is the best because of the natural order of the economy having to come back to work ?

Grab it while you can because under normal circumstances he wouldn't be getting these accolades that's for sure ... Not to mention those that can no longer claim unemployment helps the numbers too .

Massive number of retirements opened up some better paying jobs . Some are being fired for not getting covid shot. Child care is unaffordable or not even available for many. It will take time to train the new hires . The pandemic ruined the world , thanks China.

"Prices climbed 6.8% in November compared with last year, largest rise in nearly four decades, as inflation spreads through economy."

WaPo reports.  https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2021/12/10/inflation-november-cpi-fed-biden/

Top officials at the White House and Fed have maintained that unsustainably high prices won’t become a permanent feature of the economy... But over the past few months, they’ve been forced to back away from their initial message that inflation is temporary, or “transitory”....

The Biden administration has suffered low approval ratings and political attacks from Republicans, who blame Democrats’ stimulus measures for overheating the economy this year. Inflation has also emerged as a top concern for voters ahead of the 2022 midterms, especially because the cost of food or gas is often a test for how people perceive the economy....

This is a such an obvious disaster that WaPo can't find a way to help Biden or blame Republicans. There's an ineffectual slap at Republicans — for blaming Democrats. But you can't blame Republicans for blaming Democrats. The Democrats are in charge.

This is as good as the economy gets. Things are going swimmingly, with a few problems.

I wonder what percentage of Americans received at least a 6.8% raise this past year.  I bet it's less than 5%, maybe less than 2%.

The midterms are going to be epic.

Even if they don't improve if there was some sign of leadership in DC (from either party) they wouldn't have to worry.  I hope people realize that ***** happens and it takes a good leader to "calm the troops" in times like these.  Trump didn't do it and look where he is now.

7% inflation is as good as it gets?  Take your blinders off.  Swimmingly.

When I talk to people, and I talk to a lot of them about this *****, they aren't talking levels of employment.  They are talking taxes and......INFLATION.

This is the most bizarre economy I can remember. There’s a supply chain crisis partly due because of jobs not being filled. Then there’s inflation from all the stimulus money.

So what we have is low supply, but high demand for things that are now very costly. That’s very bad.

Shutting down the economy was a big mistake and then the second big mistake was sending stimulus money to everyone. Now everyone is screwed.

Idk how businesses are going to recoup, because Biden is going to raise everyone’s taxes bc that’s what dems do. This could lower inflation, but not if it causes higher unemployment at the same time (bc Biden will send out more stimulus to those who aren’t employed).

so this is becoming really, really messed up. Just leave the economy and small businesses alone.
