Vaccination will be required to attend Bills games this season, per Polancarz. [Edit: "No official vaccination policy yet" per Bills ticket office.]

Before you shout “muh freedoms!!!”, it’s private property.   Also, IN.

Not sure how to keep this from getting political/controversial. But its pretty big Bills related news. Hopefully we can all behave

We may be done with the virus, but it’s certainly not done with us as seen by it’s mutated variants and recent uptick in positive tests in some areas. Including Erie county. Continuing to exercise an abundance of caution is just good,  imminent sense.

It really does figure that despite the historically fast development of a vaccine we're still going to make this a tight race down to the finish line.

Erie County doesn’t own the stadium. The Pegula’s do. They operate their business in a state, so they have to listen to state rules or move to states that allow them to conduct their businesses as they see fit.

You are misinformed. Erie County has owned the stadium since it was built. The Bills (PSE) are its chief tenant and operator.

just read through this thread.  the people who are attacking the most are the ones who refuse it completely...calling people sheep, stating people are blindly following what the government tell them what to do, thinking your lives are being taking over, etc.  this group wants to act persecuted, but yet they're the most attacking of the bunch.

See above, but yes, I was misinformed and I shouldn’t have been so confident about it. So how would this work with a future sale? Couldn’t the owner just buy the stadium outright?

Poloncarz says people have personal choice to not get the vaccine if they don't want it. Attending a football game is also a personal choice, he says. "There's no God-given right to attend a football game," Poloncarz said.

The NFL has said it will not be requiring the vaccine.

However, it wouldn't be a surprise if they would have alternatives, and the alternatives be not particularly palatable.

Like you can either get the vaccine, OR continue with last year's restrictions

Just spit balling. I think this may be an over correction on their part for catching heat for their regular testing. I am not complaining that they were testing so often. But I have friends who waited weeks for their test results, and the NFL was getting thousands run every single day. If the NFL mandated vaccination, they would need to have players skip the line in order to get a lot of them. Not great optics.

They will have other plans in place during this season, some will probably be similar to last year with temps, testing, and close contacts, just a bit more lax.

I think they are kicking the can down the road as far as the vaccine. The world has changed rapidly the last year/year and a half. They will wait to see what 2022 looks like before mandating anything. But I would not be shocked if they required it next season.

So you’re saying that nobody thinks the vaccine actually works?

That there isn’t a segment of the population who bought the hype and now believe they’re safe?

You seem pretty smart. You like the muppets. I don’t think you fall into that category.

The Vaccine works until it doesn't. All it takes is just the right mutation and then here we go again. The idea is to give it as little opportunity to do that as possible.

Since you don't have to have a government issued ID to vote, would you need it to enter the Bills game to prove the vaccine matches?  Wouldn't that be unfair to the millions and millions oppressed from voting and now they can't enter a Bills game?

Just saying out loud what  I have heard, read, and  seen first hand from that minority of our fellow Americans...

Including the Vice President who is helping with the rollout of the vaccine, or the governor of NY who signs the checks of the guy whose statement started this thread? Or does skepticism only = low intellect when it fits the side of the fence you’re currently munchin the grass on?

Your initial post calling anyone who disagrees with you/this decision of low intellect is pretty telling for how willing and able you are to engage in useful dialogue about your believes and held opinions. I’d encourage you to rethink that.

No worries. A new owner could conceivably buy it if the county was willing to sell, but it would be a separate transaction from the purchase of the team. Much like when the Pegulas purchased the team from the the Wilson foundation and they had to abide by the lease agreement in place.

This ridiculousness is exactly why letting the government "control" the virus was a massive error that history will not judge kindly.

Screams tactic to get more people vaccinated when demand is dropping, it should work or at least get people interested into it again. Which is a good thing

With that said I do expect that you will need to show some proof to enter, how easy it will be to fake this proof is another question entirely

If you thinking forcing me to take an unapproved FDA vaccine that was fast tracked for a disease that has less than a .1% mortality rate for my age group is cynical, then I guess I'm cynical.

I'd love to see where you get .1% mortality rate.  😄  Based on known current tracked figures of fatalities and confirmed cases, the fatality rate is about 1.8% in this country.  For the rate you claim for this country, 640,000,000 people would have had to have been infected in this country.  Last time I checked, that's not far from twice the actual population of the country.  So, impossible.

You ought to more cynical of your math skills, than a virus vaccine technology that has already been approved under normal or non-emergency use against tuberculosis Bacillus Calmette Guerin (BCG).

you completely twisted what i said.    i think the vaccine works, but it doesn't mean everything is completely back to normal yet.  so if people bought the hype, that means they got the vaccine?  there's no hype here.  it's a decision.  it just seems to me that people who choose not to get the vaccine are far more attacking about it that people who have gotten it.

some people have been so tricked into think their government is trying to control them...that we're going socialist or communist with these new rules.  your freedoms are being taken away!  you can accuse people of falling for the hype for taking it, but that is that type of thinking?

How about you guys actually define Communism because at this point I have to assume it means thing you don't like.

Well to be precise it’s Socialism.

Communism is a lofty goal (to some) that is unattainable by today’s humans. That is because we’re too stuck on freedom and ownership.

Socialism is the transition from capitalism to communism where “experts” and government officials control the society and its production because society isn’t evolved enough to accept communism.

The thing is, no one gets past socialism because it gives too much power to the controlling class, leaving the rest destitute.

So yes, I don’t like it and yes, unaccountable government officials telling people to do things against their will for the “good of the people” smacks of socialism.

Just tried getting the Excelsior Pass.  Doesn't register my clinical trial vaccine despite me having a CDC card for it.

Excelsior Pass program will need to be expanded significantly before it would be practical to use for something like stadium admission:

"At this time, Passes may only be retrieved for COVID-19 vaccinations or negative test results received in the State of New York."

My guess is the clinical trial doesn't count as "received in the State of New York" but there will surely be a lot of NYS residents who were vaccinated elsewhere, as well as residents of other states who wish to attend.
