A hack Democrat Senator (do you even know his history ?)  repeats the fake narrative about concerns about voting irregularities in his opening speech.

Wow, good thing I was sitting down when I was reading it.

😆

It's true though...lol... too many people are showing up and that's not a good thing for the GQP.

Grassley confirms a third of Americans lost their jobs due to the all-star game being moved. We cannot let this stand!

At least they only lost their jobs.  According to Joe, 2/3 of Americans died of the Chinese virus.

You will be made to care...............

Home Depot, based in Georgia, had the nerve to stay silent as others screamed about Georgia’s new voting laws. Black religious leaders are now urging people to boycott the company over that silence.

Two Democrat governors are also applying pressure on businesses.

Hey, private businesses. You must get involved in politics. You cannot go about your day, provide goods and services for people, and make jobs.

You all must listen to the left and not question them. You must accept their interpretation of the new Georgia voting laws, even though they’re stretching the truth and lying.

From The New York Times:

Quote

The call for a boycott, led by Bishop Reginald T. Jackson, who oversees all 534 African Methodist Episcopal churches in Georgia, represents one of the first major steps to put significant economic pressure on businesses to be more vocal in opposing Republican efforts in Georgia and around the country to enact new restrictions on voting.

“We don’t believe this is simply a political matter,” Bishop Jackson said in an interview. “This is a matter that deals with securing the future of this democracy, and the greatest right in this democracy is the right to vote.”

Home Depot, Mr. Jackson said, “demonstrated an indifference, a lack of response to the call, not only from clergy, but a call from other groups to speak out in opposition to this legislation.”

Jackson wants four things:

  • Speak out against the law
  • Publicly oppose similar bills in other states
  • Support the John Lewis Voting Rights Act in Congress
  • Back litigation against the Georgia voting law

Since the usual suspects here tend to twist everything posted, I will be proactive.

No, this does not mean that anyone thinks that these 'leaders' don't have a right to speak.

The irony is that Home Depot probably thought that the best way to avoid problems would be to not "take sides"

but that shows a poor understanding of the mindset of today's extremist democrats.

But you don’t mind the Georgia legislature punishing Delta for criticizing the suppression bill?

Of course not you hypocrite.

Some Republicans wanted to boycott Disney when it had a gay pride day.  They wanted to boycott the NFL.  And on and on.  Quit pretending that political pressure on corporations is one sided.

Yes, both sides do that. No one ever denied that

But surely you can see the difference here. They are not "reacting" because an industry took a stand on the right or left.

They are calling for action against Home Depot, BECAUSE they wouldn't come out on their side.

That is very different and very dangerous.

Wouldn't you agree ?

No I don't.  They are exactly the same.  Conservatives wanted to boycott Disney because they would not go along with their demands to stop recognizing gay people.  Trump wanted the NFL boycotted because he wanted the NFL to be on his side.  These are two sides of the exact same coin, and your partisanship does not allow you to see it.

I would argue that you are the one that is being blinded,

They are Not the same things.

Conservatives reacted (badly) WHEN Disney established Gay pride days.

Trump reacted (badly) WHEN  the NFL established many BLM tributes

Home Depot has not done anything................in the eyes of these liberal leaders that can not be allowed, you MUST take a political stand

It is completely different

and much more dangerous than calling for a boycott in RESPONSE to something a business did or said.

Thanks.

You are splitting hairs.  Citizens pressuring corporations, politicians threatening corporations.  Same coin, different sides.

Pressuring them for what though? Home Depot was silent on the issue, took no side, they were Switzerland, remained neutral, offered no opinion on the matter, and yet a call for boycott was raised. You don't see a difference?

Did he say he didn't have a problem with that or is that just the voices in your head?

Punishing or forcing private companies to choose a side in a political debate (left or right) is childish and reeks of strong arming.

There is no difference.  You want to see one to justify your right wing views.   Corporations are pressured to go along with the political aspirations either way.  Liberals are pressuring Home depot to take their side.  Conservatives pressured the NFL and Disney to take their side.  And so on.

In your examples a position was taken by a corporation, true? In the Home Depot case no position was taken at all. also true?
