TBD with Ads is the greatest!

Let's all complain about the complainers complaining about people having the nerve to complain.

Here's a solution: how about all of the "I'd pay for it" party donate to the "cheapskate" party's access? They want it to be paid for and they want it free.

Force feed ads that you have to click on is the latest greatest craze!

Maybe if I'm positive about this forum my post won't get taken down? Either way, super great call leaders!

Or, maybe, don't come to the website.

While I will give up on sites inundated with aggressive ads, if ads are reasonable, I will actually click on them  occasionally even though I have no interest just to keep the revenue wheels turning on a site whose content I truly appreciate ... a small price to pay IMO

Next Friday come, I didn't have the rent...and out the door I went.

SDS carries insurance for these types of finger injuries. However, he is likely to litigate first. (Needs to make sure you didn’t screw up the digit under other nefarious circumstances.) You may want @BringBackFergy to represent you.

A class action against TBD for emotional distress gauged on net profits. Let’s see....$0.00 x 3 (treble damages) = .......screw it. Pull up your big boy pants OP.

I was frustrated with the recent ads too...then I logged in (as I'm mostly a reader) and they've gone away on my chrome browser!

what was your honest level of frustration when you were logged out?

Tribbles..  is this what you were talking about...

Are really still complaining about clicking out of one little ad?  Has the OP ever been on the internet?  Mods, if this keeps the doors open, and the lights on, have at it.

I love the idea of a paywall the more I think about it. Many here complain about paying for The Athletic or BN...seriously? You won’t pay for people’s work? Ask a plumber or HVAC person to your house and then stiff them. How does that work out?

This entire argument is just silly. Asking for cash to participate in a board as active and good as this is only fair. Not to mention keeping the trolls at bay. Sign me up.

I'd rather just see ads. This is a fan site.

A couple of times I've read and not logged in. "Frustration" was zero. Just one add as I recall.

But, oddly, ad was always for tasteful lingerie/swimwear.

Not Vicky's Secret mind you, but more along the lines of "why has Martha Stewart been using my phone?"

Nota bene: yes, I'm a dude; no I don't look at porn; no I don't buy lingerie. But I do read a lot of complex foreign policy articles (I swear) on my phone.

The ad service algorithm remains a deep mystery....

5/10 - It's probably more annoying that I went years without seeing this and now I had to look for the x/close to continue to the thread I wanted to read. But problem fixed.

My advertisements were Genesys cloud which we use at work.

When dvr was newer my friends and I during games would pause at the start of a commercial set then fast forward to the action 2 minutes after. Somebody chuckled every time too so there was more than spite fueling this ;)

For me, it was quite significant.

Three more counselling sessions and I'm told I will be recovered.

Alas, one can only hope.

You infer that SDS is penniless. The rumor is that he has Bezos type money off TBD.

FWIW, I am logged in and see several display / retargeting ads, including ones I have to click on to get to this forum. Local car dealers, etc.

Pretty sure I have an ad blocker. Clearly it’s not working well. I’d rather not see ads but it’s a free forum, and a good one at that, so it’s worth it.

I’d personally pay a subscription if there were a mobile app.
