TSW Mock Draft 1.0 - Complete

Virgil

Recommended Posts

With the 52nd pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select Kelvin Joseph, CB, Kentucky.

The draft board and need meet at pick 52.  With Fuller cut, the D needs a CB.  Joseph had 4 ints in 2020 and is an excellent athlete.  Joseph is not a process guy but Chicago is not a process team.

The Titans and @turftoeare on the clock.

Thanks to @Virgil for organizing.

With the 50th pick in the TSW Mock Draft, the Miami Dolphins select S Jevon Holland, Oregon

While we have invested heavily in our cornerback room with Howard, Jones, and Igbinoghene, we felt that an upgrade at safety was of crucial importance. 2020 starters Bobby McCain and Eric Rowe are nothing more than replacement level journeymen. Having to face the Bills' potent passing offense and the Patriots' new two-TE set twice a year each, upgrading the middle of our secondary is a priority.

In safety Jevon Holland, head coach Brian Flores gets a smart, versatile, ball-hawking chess piece for his secondary. The Oregon standout recorded 9 interceptions in his two seasons at Oregon before opting out in 2020.

Wide receiver was considered here, but the depth of that position allows us to feel confident that we can find a contributor there in the third round.

@whatdrought and the Washington Whatchamacallits are now on the clock.

This is a real good pick for Fish. They need to really improve their safety play dramatically

6 offensive tackles (personally I have AVT as an OT) in round 1 and another 5 so far in round 2 (including 2 I have later grades on) and there are still 2 I have 2nd round grades on available.

When I say this is a deep offensive tackle group, it really IS a deep offensive tackle group.

With the 55th pick in the TSW draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select..

Josh Meyers, OL Ohio State.

The Steelers need to address their OL, even with Villanueva’s hopeful return.  Here they get a player who can play backup C and grown into the position or start at C or G.  Some noticing OT’s also available but the Steelers need to protect the interior.

The Jaguars and @Buffalo716 are now on the clock.

  • Virgil changed the title to TSW Mock Draft 1.0 - The Seahawks (Glazeduck) are on the clock

With the 56th pick in the TSW draft, the Seattle Seahawks select..

Dillon Radunz, LT, NDSU

The Los Angeles Rams and New Era/Butt Stuff are now on the clock.

You have to feel for John Schneider here. One of the NFL's best human beings is tasked with mending the fence between two squabbling hall of famers, with basically 2 draft picks, little cap room and a lot of needs. What better way to start mending that fence by drafting a first round talent to protect Russell and improve the running game in the late second? Radunz has all the tools to step into a starting role on the offensive line and improve a unit that has been underperforming for years.

EDIT: there's absolutely ZERO chance that the Seahawks don't trade down here, but since trading out of the second round is neither an option, nor any fun in a two round mock, went with easily the best player available...

  • Virgil changed the title to TSW Mock Draft 1.0 - The Rams (NewEra) are on the clock

With the 57th pick in the TSW Mock Draft, the Los Angeles Rames select Nick Bolton, LB, Missouri  .

The Baltimore Ravens and @Virgilare on the clock.

We thought about IOL with this pick as well, but went with BPA at another area of need. Micah Kiser and KennyYoung are the incumbent ILB in the 3-4 scheme Raheem Morris will be running in LA   While both have been serviceable, we couldn’t resist adding a lightning rod into the middle of this D. A 3 down lb with a nose for the ball, coverage skills and impact tackling that we’re looking for to be the leader of our LB unit.  Very happy with the pick to say the least. We also considered Jamin Davis and Jabril Cox, but went with Bolton due his already developed skill set that we feel can help us win the SB this year

  • Virgil changed the title to TSW Mock Draft 1.0 - The Browns (Rc2catch) are on the clock

With the 58th pick in TSW Mock Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select Ronnie Perkins, Edge, Oklahoma.

The only thing that prevented the Ravens from making this pick sooner was taking the time to double check that he wasn't already drafted.  Projected to go as high as the early 20's, Stanley was hindered by lack of playing time this past season, although he delivered fantastic results in the games he did appear in.  Not only is Perkins BPA, but he also fits a huge position of need with the departure of Yannick and Judon.  The Ravens have been able to fill two major holes with their first two picks that were both value and the team expects to contribute on day 1.

The Browns are on the clock @Rc2catch (creepy ass baby clown)

His attacking style will do very well behind Aaron Donald.

Interesting that he fell this far. I've seen him mocked to us couple times in the first before we signed Milano.
