This can be done in a secure and humane way but both parties need to agree on the path forward. Biden isn’t even attempting to address the issue. Republicans don’t offer any serious proposals other than build the wall. It’s been a problem for decades. Both parties are responsible for this mess. “What a mess” truly applies to this issue. By allowing a porous border, we are providing a safety valve for failing governments. Locking the border with some degree of effectiveness would force these folks to stay home, generating domestic problems and government reactions.
