Why would it be odd that all three branches were involved? The Executive Branch is up for election, the Legislative Branch certifies the election, and the Judicial Branch gets involved (see Bush/Gore) when something may be amiss. Seems EXACTLY like the way the process is designed to work.

DOJ indicts former Trump adviser Peter Navarro for contempt of Congress

Peter Navarro is the second former Trump official to be indicted after ignoring subpoenas from the House Jan. 6 committee

The Department of Justice announced the indictment Friday. The department has previously indicted former Trump adviser Stephen K. Bannon for contempt of Congress, throwing its weight behind the committee's subpoenas.

Navarro has called the Jan. 6 committee illegitimate and is suing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi over the committee's activity. In an interview with Fox News' Chad Pergram, he called any possible prosecution of him "domestic terrorism."

What do you think about the timing of the upcoming hearings, Alf?  Do you think Nancy scheduled it too early where people will have already have moved on by election day?  I think dragging this stuff out is going to bite her in the butt come November.

I doubt it will affect the midterms , the economy will do that. It is important to get the truth out for Jan 6  fwiw

You really think that the timing of these hearing has nothing to do with the midterms?   Why has it taken so long for the truth to get out?

People not cooperating and taking the 5th isn't speeding things up. The Dems might try to make it affect the midterms but the economy is the biggest issue by far.

Investigations take time. Especially when witnesses don't cooperate.

Taking the time to do a thorough investigation is better than rushing through it. That being said, there's a hard stop they need to account for because the GOP will shut down the committee in January in the very likely event that they take the House.
