I find it incredibly disturbing that you plan an "insurrection" and virtually everyone that stormed the Capitol of the most powerful nation on earth was......unarmed.

I demand to know who sent these insurrectionists in there completely defenseless.  That's horrific planning.

i saw the person in charge, he looked like an Emo kid wearing a MAGA hat.  he was directing everyone to the Capitol steps and saying "we are gathering over there, the booms you hear are just fireworks and the smoke you see are just smoke bombs, it is safe to go there."

The people who keep trying to compare 1/6 to Bin Laden or the Taliban are the worst people in this country.

They don’t care about the bungled riot of middle aged unarmed people at the Capitol.  They only care about politics.

Their pathetic comparison attempts out them as the true enemies of this country.   We will never be united with people like this in positions of influence.

Not worse than the MAGA crowd that attempted to over the election and killed the cop. Scum bags, hope they rot in jail

On the heels of the news that the January 6 commission will not come to fruition (thanks in part to two Senate Democrats who didn’t show up for the vote), Hillary Clinton is making her outrage known:

But Hillary Clinton has never acquitted herself well, and her take above is no exception.

“They killed a policeman” is a straight-up lie, at least according to the official ruling from the D.C. chief medical examiner.

The D.C. chief medical examiner has ruled that Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick suffered two strokes and died of natural causes the day after he took part in defending the Capitol during the Jan. 6 riots, The Washington Post reported on Monday.

Medical examiner Francisco J. Diaz, in an interview with the Post, said that Sicknick’s autopsy did not find any evidence that the 42-year-old officer suffered an allergic reaction to the chemical substance, which Diaz said would have caused Sicknick’s throat to seize.

Diaz also said there were no indications of internal or external injuries.

But, please, drag the poor mother out again to try and force a vote.

Say “killed a cop” if you can’t think for yourself and believe lies your media feeds you.

To to educate those who may need it, Officer Sicknick died of strokes due to a clot in an artery that supplied specific areas of his brain.  Trauma (not that there was any) and chemicals wouldn't cause that.  Hence the "natural causes" determination.

Now had it been a stroke due to a bleed due to high blood pressure, you could argue that it was the cause of it.  But even then, there's obviously underlying disease.

Why do you only care about Sicknick but not any other cops? He actually did not die from the riot but why pet facts bother you

First, nobody killed a cop that day.

Second, if the protestors go to jail for trying to overturn an election, then the guy in the cell next to them had better be Adam Schiff!

The Senate vote is proof of the complicit involvement of the GOP ranking party members and organization in Jan 6th's destruction and threats against congressional members. A vote not to investigate yourself for their own protection.

Sadly, like Watergate, it will now take a good journalist and a new "deep throat" to bring light to this dark day.

Perhaps an actual trusted leader may rise from the ashes of this crumbling Republic. None of the present crop of politicians in either party are capable.

The vote is proof they understand a Congressional "commission" would be political theater.  Plain and simple.  The investigation is best handled by the DOJ and DC prosecutors with the court system used to facilitate all legal proceedings.  Congress by nature is a partisan body.  To suggest the Democrats would not take advantage of such an opportunity to discredit their political opposition is absurd.  The idea they're seeking some "truth" is a fantasy.  They've demonstrated this through the entire Trump administration and basically proved nothing.  If the shoe was on the other foot the Republicans would do the same and the Democrats would be balking at the idea of a commission.   A lot of times politics is governed by the saying "where you stand depends on where you sit".  This is one of those times.

Also to suggest that journalists will do some "investigation" is not likely.  Our media doesn't investigate anything.  They're provided some established narratives and suggest anyone or anything that disagrees is debunked or conspiracy.  They are nothing more than mouthpieces for the State.  If Watergate occurred today Woodward and Bernstein would have been shoved out of the newsroom for daring to challenge and investigate the establishment.  They have less credibility than Congress.  Which is hard to do.

I’d be worried if I were you. When the US implodes Russia and China are coming for your Canadian oil. And god know you aren’t defending yourselves.

Why come to this cold iceberg when they can take over your country. Then all the politicians who play games with pipelines and buy oil from mideast enemies and Venezuela will realize the stupidity of that process. I for one want Canada to sell our oil, lumber, aluminum direct to China. It has become impossible for the world to deal with the extremes of US politics, left and right.

Not true. The House Dems will now form their own commission. This was the Senate Rs shooting down the bipartisan compromise, and can now claim it is fake news if it digs up something bad.

This was a bipartisan commission. That was the point. Now there will be a D lead commission.
