Trump golfed a quarter of his presidency

But you knew that

Awesome. Exercise and fresh air is good for you.  Maybe you should hit the links more yourself.  Paint you ball orange. I bet you’d hit it a mile.

Another W for Joe

Maybe if Trump had golfed less he would have had time to bring these folks home.

Did you intentionally neglect to mention the rest of the story?

The "release" was a trade.

The hostages were released because the US released Maduro regime family members convicted of drug charges, including the "narco nephews" of Mrs. Maduro who were convicted of attempting to smuggle cocaine into the US from Haiti.

It helps if the entire story is told.

I didn’t neglect anything - Americans have been returned to the US.

Of course you did.

The claim in analogous to saying that someone received a car, without mentioning what they paid for it, or that  U2 pilot Gary Powers was simply returned to the US.

These omissions are not unnoticed, and disingenuous.

Do you think those guys and their families give a F what the US exchanged for their freedom?

Get out of here

Biden Begs OPEC for More Oil Again, Gets Massive Cut Instead.

.

Earlier I read an interesting analysis which concluded the primary target of the Fed is high energy prices, which is the primary driver of inflation,  and they're committed to bringing them down via higher interest rates at the expense of everything else.  Essentially they're at war with OPEC+ which is in a unique position to defend their interests by raising or lowering output as needed.  OPEC+ is intent not to let the consequences of the Feds policy fall on them but rather back at the US which is generating the fallout.

I'm not sure what you are referring to by use of the "the Fed."

Generally, that is the term used to describe the Federal Reserve.

The Federal Reserve, has a dual mandate.

The first is to maintain maximum employment, and the second is price stability with moderate long term interest rates.

They are not specifically concerned with energy costs, except as a part of the total calculus in inflation.

They might not have been in the past, but there's an election to be won...

There is no indication the the Fed has been politicized, and if there was, the markets would react in a violent manner never seen.

The Fed does what it does, uses the data it does, and marches on, apolitical.

Report: Biden Tried to Deceive Us With Naked Political Plea to the Saudis

8643d475-bf95-4b75-96b4-3305218cca21-860

As previously reported, OPEC+ made the decision to cut two million barrels of oil a day in production, despite the White House’s pleas to produce more. That caused the White House to “spasm” and panic. But now, there’s more about the White House reaction that is very troubling.

According to the Wall Street Journal, citing “people familiar with the talks,” when the Biden Administration found out that cuts might be coming, they reached out to Saudi Arabia and urged them to pressure OPEC+ to delay the cuts for another month until November, just a few days before the midterm elections so it wouldn’t impact them. That way, Americans wouldn’t feel the effect of the cuts until after the election. It was a full-court press: White House officials called the Saudi leader Mohammed bin Salman, and even Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen spoke to the finance minister.

The Biden team has done a lot of things to try to deceive us, but it’s hard to get much more nakedly political than that.

According to the report, the Biden team even threatened the Saudis, saying if they didn’t get a delay from OPEC+, they would view it as that they were siding with Russia and it would damage the relationship we have with them.

The Saudis told the Biden team “no,” because they said the Biden team was trying to influence the election; it wasn’t about the oil situation. Then they went and leaned on OPEC+ to cut production. The Saudis also said they have to look out for their economy, if the price per barrel goes too low.

The WSJ report also showed how much Biden has hurt the relationship with the Saudis. He ostensibly went to Saudi Arabia in July to help repair the relationship and beg for oil, after he had called the country a “pariah” because of the murder of Jamal Kashoggi. But instead of improving things, according to the Saudis, he made things worse.

"Gettin results" ?
