He resurrected Jim Plunkett's career and the Raider were a force during his time as HC. He deserved to be in the HOF long before, at least IMO. I wonder with the social justice thing going on if the committee felt obligated to put him in since he is of Hispanic descent. Either way, Flores belongs. Bill4Bills Posted February 7, 2021 Share Posted February 7, 2021 Great coach and very deserving of HOF. That the Lamonica trade turned out to be an historically bad trade for the Bills is well known. A little side note. As a kid, like many Bills fans, I was a fan of the backup QB who happened to be Daryle Lamonica at the time and I was not happy about seeing him shipped out. To add insult to injury (pun intended), I remember that Flores arrived in Buffalo with double vision! I kid you not. Not exactly a characteristic you want to see in your new quarterback. I could see a scenario 10 or 15 years from now where they vote him in as a senior candidate. If they want to recognize the beginning of the special teams specialist role in the NFL, they could vote him in as the first and one of the best. I'd argue Flores did it with less talent and without a HOF QB. He should have been inducted with two wins before Levy with four losses.
