[Misleading Title] Here is something to spoil your day.

Recommended Posts

The phins were a tough out this year.   What improvements might come to them from the draft?  They made a good trade with Houston and picked up their 1st and 2nd round picks for this year.  Right now they have the following picks in the top 50:   (note:  the Bills have ONE.)

#3      overall,  1st round third pick

#18    overall,   1st round 18th pick

#36   overall,    2nd round 3rd pick

#50    overall,   2nd round 18th pick

Of course they already have their QB, so that 3rd pick is a luxury. Let's say they flip it for (sic) two #14 picks.  Well you can't do that, but say they flip one of those #14 picks for a #23 and a #53.  Then they would have:

#14   overall,    1st round 14th pick

#18    overall,   1st round 18th pick

#23   overall     1st round 23rd pick

#36   overall,    2nd round 3rd pick

#50   overall,   2nd round 18th pick

AMMENDMENT:  yes we blew them out the very last game.  We beat them by 3 points in the first game.

#55  overall,    2nd round 23rd pick

and

#67  overall    3rd round pick.

That is FIVE new players in the top 50 (which is considered the most likely place to get starters).

14.     Patrick Surtain, CB, Alabama.   (first CB taken)

18.     Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama. (first or second DT taken)

23.    Kenny Gainwell, RB, Memphis.  (2nd RB)

36.    Marques Stevenson, WR, Houston.

50.    Richard LeCounte, S, Georgia.

etc (players form walter football- chose you own)

OK,  they have 4 or 5 picks in the top 50.   We have one. . .   I am not very happy. Next year is going to be a dog fight.

<<<<<yes we blew them out in the last game and they imploded. They are building and are a combination of scrubs and recent higher draft picks.  We won the first game, with Fritz QB the whole way, by 3 points.  >>>>>

The Dolphins have some good draft capital from the trade of their LT, I thought that was common knowledge.....The Patriots dominated the division for 2 decades drafting in the 30's continuously.  What you do with those picks is what matters.  But even more important is the QB, I am not sure they "have their QB".

So go join their board and maybe explain to them your fascination with RBs.  Maybe with their QB they will be a run first team for you to enjoy.

Uh...what in the world makes you think they are satisfied with their QB situation?  Tua did not look good at all last year despite what the pundits were saying as he was putting up under 100 yards passing in 33% of his starts.  Also, not to be that guy, but looks like you don't know what "sic" means.  It is used when you are quoting something and you leave an error in the quote (like spelling for example) to keep the quote accurate.  Its like, yeah, I know this is wrong but this is how the source had it and I am just copying what they did, I'm not the idiot, they are sort of thing.

Edit - "Don't" know!

Maryland, you might want to read some of the other threads before you post.  I’ve said and so have others many many times the following and I can write much more succinct.  The Fins spent $235.8 mil. In FA, last year.  They had 11 picks last year and 10 picks this year.  It’s been discussed at nauseum the possibility (although unlikely regarding a Watson trade as Houston’s GM might as well put a gun to his head if he did that one).

severla people question Tua, although I’ve tried to remind Allen was only 52% completion his first year.  They are very different players.

Nothing I just wrote spoils my day.  My grieving ended yesterday on the playoff loss.  What you wrote was not a thought not already discussed over and over again.  I have written and stand by it, Miami will become our competition down the road if they can develop Tua or pick another guy in this draft.  It will be at least two years away.  I have absolutely no fear in the Fins as I implicitly trust our brain trust to make the right decisions to continue to grow.

I don’t know what’s up with the fear factor thread.  I’ll agree though, their coach should be able in a normal off season to start to get that team to gel and should improve.  They played the NFCW, and AFCW like us.

I’ll click once on a fear factor thread and then done.  I only jumped back in as I respect Sotier and he replied to me.

Im out.  Have fun with the sky is falling threads.  I encourage other real Bills fans do the same.  Then the trolls can just have a fun conversation going back and forth with each other.  I’ll always open once.  If someone I know or trust replies I’ll check. Otherwise see ya.

At the moment the difference between Allen and Tua means the Dolphins can do everything right and still lose to the Bills.

It reminds me a bit of the Colts and the Texans last year - in 2019. The Colts went to Houston with the perfect game plan, they dominated the line of scrimmage, they ran the ball, they pressured Watson they didn't make mistakes...... and yet Deshaun Watson made 2 incredible plays in the second half and Houston won the game. The Bills are not as flawed as it was already evident that Texans team was.... but the point stands. The Dolphins could do everything right against us and still lose because they have a Quarterback who looks at the moment like his best is "efficient" and the Bills have a Quarterback whose best is "special."

Miami will be in the race again, like they were this year for a fair way, and they are an organisation doing a lot of good things but when it comes down to it I don't expect them to finish above the Bills.

And here’s the other thing — Beane and the Bills aren’t going to stand pat!  It’s as if folks think the Bills will stand still while everyone else tries to improve.  You don’t think Beane and McD are keenly aware of where they need to get better?  And they’re going to have one of the top 3 QB/WR combos in the league for at least the next 3-4 years.  Oh, and Josh Allen is only going to get better the more experience he has.
